Absolutely stunning! I showed this to my DH, who made my (much smaller) thread wall with pegboard and 1/4" dowels. He admires your husband's design and how much effort went into creating your thread storage. Hint: I use an adjustable pressure curtain rod to hang a curtain of heavy clear plastic over my spools to keep the dust off.
Here is my tip for protecting my threads

I would like to say I jealous, BUT, it looks like somebody is going to do a lot of work, And I don't want to go there. Mine is for enjoyment!
Oh MY! It is beautiful! You are spoiled!!! Isn't it wonderful to be spoiled!
Wow! Such fun! You are sew organized....wish I could say the same :-(
I do try though! :-))
Hugs, Nadyne
Oh boy I am gonna show this to my hubby hopefully he will take the hint LOL
you're one lucky lady...I'm always fumbling through plastic storage bins to find my thread!
WOW! What a great job he did! Sure knows how to make you happy! Showed my DH (not that we'd have room for anything like this), he looked and said "WOW".
Beautiful. It is my dream, all that light, the organization, the husband....Now your DH needs to complete his master piece with plexiglass doors, to protect the treasure from dust and sunlight. You can publish your sewing room in a magazine like BH.
Congratulations!
I'm having thread envy, sewing room envy right now. What an awesome guy. What did he get for Christmas?
I does look nice, we have alot of dust on the ranch so I have to keep my thread in the drawer, I envy you!
Well I sure didn't expect to hear from so many cuties on this one, so thanks for all your comments. Should mention that my hubby did this on our holiday when we were away visiting family. He took advantage of my BIL's
workshop to use all his beautiful tools. Oh course he mentioned to me a few times that he was doing this during holiday time, but he has a very good sense of humour so he was just trying to rub it in a little but all in fun. Love him to death, he really does take good care of me and knows how much I love to embroider so anything to make my life easier.
Thanks again and sorry I can't share him with everyone
hugs Michelle
Fantastic. It sure doesn't look like you are having any trouble filling it up, either.
Gee, that's amazing!! One day I will upload a pic of the lovely cabinet my DH made for me, it's a lot smaller though. LOL
wow...great !! just showed this with a big smile to my DH... he says no...don't look at me like that.. I can't fix it... So you better feel very, very lucky !!! Have fun with it , you will be sooooo organized now .
I am so so so jealous - but wait ! I am adoptable so maybe i could get one too!! LOL but seriously, it is great and look how organized you are. I love the sun shining through. Your room looks so bright!
Happy Stitching !!
Lois W.
Reading this, just a thought: keep the direct sun off the threads, or you'll have fading and drying out. Dried out thread is fragile & shreds. Need a protective cover, especially in direct sun from window. My rack is on same wall as window, no sun there.
Your husband is lucky to have you!!! He ! He! Other wise, he would be building gun racks.
Ah! That is how your husband shows you that he loves you. He makes things for you that you want, need, and would enjoy! What a great gift! I envy all those spools of thread. Makes me wonder what on earth you did before you had this rack!!!
Lovely. Am green with envy. Oh wait I need more green thread. LOL. Would love to have one that holds about 300 spools. That would take care of me now and allow room for growth. Gotta have that.
Good job!
How do you keep the dust and sunlight off them?
I have something in a much smaller scale and I use light weight clear plastic (by the yd. at JoAnn's) with a pocket sewn at the bottom, a dowel stick through that for weight, tack the top to the top of the racks, and it can be rolled up or down.
Just a thought in case you don't cover them.
MJDG
Very lovely. My husband built me on that holds 340 spools. It is "a-framed" and sits on a window ledge. I love being able to see all the colors at one time. Becky
Who's a very lucky girl then!! How lovely to be able to see all you threads at once a wonderful rainbow.
I love it. I am always trying to match bobbins up with the thread. But if I got one, I would have to make it myself. Husband has been ill, not able to do these things anymore. Joyce
I'm sorry that your husband is not well. He'd do something like that for you if he could.
this is great he done a good job bet that took a while to make....
Very nice too! More piccies please. I don't mind being a nice shade of green. Jan
WOW DIDN'T EXPECT THAT thought it would be a box to put your threads in LUCKY YOU EVERY ONE WILL WANT ONE
ENJOY
Thank you for being such a 'show off' and letting us see all those wonderful threads. I am green with envy. Sarah.
Oh my goodnes, just FANTASTIC. A few jealous cuties here lol. Enjoy
Michelle I love you sewing room a lot of space and so lucky to have a hubby that can do such a lot of work for you. Enjoy. Love Marie
600 colours of thread, you will never not be able to find that roll of thread that you need next. You know the one that ends up under something else and you find it days later. I have shown my DH your picks hopefully i get one that maybe holds 200 colours. Congratulations
Very, very, very nice! Feel lucky that he cares about your passion!!!
Wow, yes you are a lucky girl. I never saw such a big thread rack in my life.
Oh My! You look very organized. Looks like a great sewing room! Good luck filling it up!LOL
Congratulations Michelle! It was wonderful! A beautiful project!
Wish I had a spare wall for this. Hubby has put shelves, pinboards and desks for me
You are blessed! This is something my husband would do for me if I had a wall big enough for all the thread. I have mine on the holders that you put on the wall and he put those up for me for me without question. I have quite a few of them, Some hold 64 spools and some hold 30 either way it's good to know our hubby's have our best interest at heart. Enjoy! Roberta
Wow! You are so lucky. Just wish I even had a spare wall to do something like this.
Girl don't be sorry for showing off, I'd be proud too.;)
Oh wow!! What a special man you have! Hang on to him.
I can see that he used doweling, but what kind of boards are the dowels attached to? What a great idea, to add a peg for the bobbin to go with each spool of thread. He is a good student; he must watch you work quite a bit!
Oh wow!! Looks like something I may have to put on hubbys honey do list.
I am just so JEALOUS,PLEASED FOR YOU,WISH I HAD ONE LIKE THAT,THE MAN I MEAN.
Oh my goodness ... what a wonderful husband you have.
Hugs Joann
WOW Michelle. That is amazing. You are a lucky gal. I AM JEALOUS. Could you lend him out occasionally?
Have fun filling all those empty pegs.
Oh I admit that I'm jealous. Has he some brothers?
He did a wonderful job for you. Think you are his princess :o)
Greetings and have fun with fill it
Bettina

Oh, Michelle, how wonderful!! This looks like the one at my dealer's shop, in the back room where they have the classes. I'm so jealous I'll tell you to go to Metro & look at their thread sets, hee hee hee. Just beautiful, your hubby is a dear. Hugs, Marji
