my first quilt was a king size quilt . It is a discovery quilt well I finished the front and the back then found the discovery part was It was too big for me to quilt. Have never made one as big again. Live and learn. hugs Joyce
I am part of a quilting group that has a few ladies that have quilting machines that will do them very cheep. I would like to make it 100% myself if i can. Hopefully i can name it. 'I had a go'.
Well not finished with mine but in the process. I am making a tube quilt (saw it on youtube.com) and want to add some different color fabric to it.
Gosh i have never heard of a tube qult, will have to go to youtube and have a peek,i look forward to seeing your quilt.
I am in the middle of making a super king size Delft Blue quilt. It has 63 squares and each square has 4 corners to be embroiderd. It takes about 25 minutes to embroider each corner. After I have embroidered all the corners ( I am half way at the moment) I embroider on half of the squares a bigger pattern. The result would hopefully look like an oldfashioned tiled wall. Do I get bored of it? I set myself tasks. I embroider 1 square and then I do something else. (Now I have 2 machines this goes at the same time.)
I have made several other big quilts. but this is the biggest. Go for it. Good luck!
Oh my your quilt sounds very nice,I have two machines, alas they are not the same make. One is Janome and the other a Hus-SE. I will have to test stich the one design on both to see if they turn out the same size and look. I have been looking at [in the hoop] quilt designs and will add on a stippled border. The last couple of days i have been trying to perfect my skills. At this stage it looks a bit like seaweed. Thankyou for your input, you have given me inspiration.
