This may sound silly but WalMart is very involved with the childrens' miracle network and often have fundraisers for them. You could call personnell and ask them who is in charge of raising funds for CMN and they should be able to direct you to the right person. Each store has one. They often do raffles and sales for this purpose right in the store but you can check them out. Just a thought.

I make little dolls..finger puppets..anything ITH for Hospice Children (making frogs as soon as I can). I make gowns, bibs, and some other things they need also. The toys can be made for the police also. They give to scared children that have been tramatized. Just look around and you will find many people that need help.

I would make some cute lunch bags for children in school. You could embroidery on them and make them very pretty for the girls, and trains or trucks, or cars for the boys.
I donated to the Pillowcase Project...dresses made with pillowcases (I used material) to make dresses for little girls in Uganda...If interested instructions are at Nancy's Sewing.
You might want to google "sewing for charity" if you need more options than what was already listed by these lovingly generous Cuties already. Hugs and *'s, Deb
I make small ITH teddy bears for donations and for the kids I meet too. I know there are lots of organizations that would like to receive them. You can try your local police and fire to see if they can use any. Also new parent programs. And check with hospitals too for the parents who have lost their babies either before or after birth. Pink teddy bears for Breast Cancer events would be welcome to especially for the children of the people battling cancer.
I donate to project linus. It is an organization that makes blankets for ill children. they have their own web site. Here it is if you would like to check it out
the sewing group I belong to always has some type of charity work going on. We've made chemo caps, walker bags, dresses for Africa, bags for soldiers, tiny buriel gowns for preemies, pillow cases for battered women shelters, and embroider patriotic designs on blankets for injured soldiers. Check with local hospitals, and nursing homes to see what they might need; donated gifts are always welcome!
I donate to churches, breast cancer, and anyone that is having a craft show fund raiser for someone ill, etc.

Ronald McDonald House has not only ill children, but their brothers & sisters staying there sometimes. Check out local charities. I know ones here, but they wouldn't help you unless you lived in East Tenn! Local Children's hospitals also are another place to look. Check with the local child/family office to see if you can donate things to children taken out of bad situations at home. I know sometimes they are very neglected & when taken really don't have a lot to take with them.
Why not donate to the senior citizens home. They are closed in and something beautiful would cheer them up and make them happy. Also a children's ward in a hospital perhaps the cancer ward where children have to stay in the hospital for a long time. That would really brighten their day and take their mind off their illness. Good Luck and Thank you from me for the generous thought.
