This is so precious and sweet. Lucky buyer!
Beautiful work to be proud of!
Hugs!!
The dress is georgous but if that material was from a petticoat then I really pitty the women having to wear it!! Imagine the hot days when there was no way to cool down and to be wearing this type of dress!
Ah yes however it is fine silk from the 1920's and may have only been used on cold days ;-)
Did you do the embroidery? The hem is especially beautiful and needed a steady hand to trim, I imagine. Jan
It was originally a hand embroidered petticoat and the lower edge is the lower edge of the doll dress! It was quite slippery to sew however.
Well done & you are very brave to make this form such an old item. I wouldn't be game to cut into it.
I have no problem cutting old items since I have been doing it for a number of years!
I am not surprised the buyer was thriller - it is beautiful. Sarah.
No wonder the buyer was happy with it, it is beautiful.
No wonder she was a happy purchaser, Edna. It looks stunning. Beautiful fabric!
