Question for topcat5. Where did you buy your petscreen? I looked online and it seems pretty expensive. Or am I not looking in the rifgt place?

Thanks

O.K., I don't know what your going to use it for, but Jo-ann's has a screen that is called heavy scrubbie, $2.49 a yard and in many colors. If I can get my daughter to take a picture of it, I will put it on here. I brought a lime and sunshine. Hope this helps. It is suppose to be for scrubbies, but it is way to heavy.

I have purchased black petscreen at Wal-mart. I think it was about $10 a roll. Hope this helps, Susan

I've seen it in pre-cut rolls in big places like Home Depot & Lowes, also Valu Home Center, Ace, or True Value Hardware. Lots of the smaller hardware stores that will actually fix your screens for you sell it by the foot off the roll, so you can get as much as you want or need. The pet screen is more expensive, because it's much heavier vinyl, but it's practically indestructible. If it's going to get real, hard use, go for the pet screen. If it's more for "show", like to take on a cruise & be cute, you could use the lighter weight vinyl screening. Hugs, Marji

Mine was a class project some years ago. You're right, the prices today are INSANE! Just use the soft vinyl screening. A 70/11 needle. Wash-Away stabilizer very lightly sprayed with adhesive (don't want to dissolve the stabilizer). Mark where you want your design and press the screen onto the stabilizer. Hoop both of them. EmbLib showed some beautiful screen totes in their tutorial that I saved but I couldn't find the tutorial in their Projects section now.

A roll of screen for a window is more than enough for the tote. The price is about $5 at the big hardware stores.

I'll check the next time I'm there. Thanks

Try hardware stores. You don't want the metal screnning but the other type.
