Yes I use the card adapter with sd cards in one of my Elna's which only uses cards. There is a supplier in RSA who sells them. You have to load the spesific embroidery folder onto the sd card and then your Jef files into that folder - I think the folder is called emb5. You can however only do a few Jef files at a time since the memory of your machine might slow down the reading of the files, I found that about 20 jef files at a time is ok. Also on certain of the Elna machines you can create the Emb5 file on the sd card via the pc whilst on others you need to format the sd card on your embroidery machine and the folder is then automatically created that way.
Sorry the folder is Embf5 and I have to add that I bought smaller sized cards ( I got quite a few micro sd cards) which works great. And yes to me it was easier than using my magic box although I have the Elna magic box which could read other embroidery formats also so I did not need to convert to Jef specifically with the sd card I have to.
formats also. With the sd card I have to convert some of my files firstly to Jef.
Would this be any easier than a Magic Box? I also use a Magic Box and I love it.
I do have a card reader, Im just looking for something that is a little easier than the magic box.

Yes, that is a USB card reader which you need to transfer your designs from your computer to your card.
I don't know about Elna, but you can use it with a Janome if you don't already have a card reader.
