Hi to all, I had asked a question about digitizing FSL, my machine came back from the shop so for those interested, I did my test sew out of the designs I igitized.

Here are the results:

Photo 1
Santa A is done first in FSL base stitches then a second FSL stitching on top, in each color and it shows. I did not like how the hat came out so I made the one change in Santa B. The hat has normal ebroidery but I deleted the base stitching leaving only the very close straight line stitching, Better. I'm happy how he stitched out but did
have some thread breakage during the final zig zag stitching of the outer frame. He will not need washing.

Photo 2
The ginger bread girl sewed out very nicely and there was not a problem having the top normal embroidery stitching on her (deleting the base stitching first). Again I did have some thread breakage with the final zig zag frame stitching but in the picture you can see that she came out nicely on the back side! The pictures are before removing her from the stabelizer and trimming the excess threads.

Photo 3
The ginger bread boy stitched out very nicely, in the photo you can see the front and back before washing, NICE!!!! Hope you like that I put shorts on him, different.

I guess you can say that these three designs are all FSL because that's the majority of the stitching, even on the Santa.

I DO suggest that you trim all the threads at each change of color on the back to keep the clean up to a minimum.

Hi Dolly,
These are very cute. I do love the baby ginger but they are all very nice.
I would love to see pics of them after you wash them
because you know as Meganne said that is when you find out if all the stitching will hold. Its so much
better seeing the pictures and we all learn too!
Thanks for sharing your digitizing adventures-Fun to see.

Dolly, before you share them you REALLY DO need to wash them out, because that is what others will do and if they fall apart, and you don't know they fall apart, there goes your reputation as a digitiser.
hugs n roses, Meganne

Wow, Dolly, they look really nice! The designs are cute too. What kind of software did you use? I have a really hard time getting my PE design 5, to not jump all over the place between layers. I have to manually place every stitch so it goes along the outline or in a place where I plan for there to be more stitches. How many layers did they end up being altogether? I love FSL! Jan

That is what digitising is all about and why some is better than others, BECAUSE you take the time to place your connection stitch lines manually.

I don't know of a programme that makes connection stitches automatically in the place you want them to be. That's all done manually.

I am using Embird and Studio and Yes, I manually 'walk' all the jump stitches around to keep them to a minimum. I am happy with the outcome!!
