Ignore the spammer, it's been reported. I'm trying to get to all these posts with same message, hugs, Marji
I taught the "Kids can Sew" programme in my home (after a full day of being a legal secretary this was MY stress release) for 3 years. When any of my students would make the comment that their sewing didn't look like my sample, my standard answer to them was, "Different doesn't mean it's wrong; besides, you're the artist!" Your creativity expresses YOU...be blessed in all you do, Avis
Not seen any comments but I love to see
others inspiration weather to my taste or not..
It excites imagination :-)
do agree with stating about size change ect.. as this could unfairly reflect on the designer.. but overall Ijust love seeing what everbody else is up to lol .
Big hugs from London - Maria xx
Have not seen what you referring too and glad I did not. What I can say is that I have never seen a project I do not like. Sometimes it is not something I will make but it does not mean I can not appreciate it. Once you do embroidery and show it to somebody who does not, they sometimes does not realise what goes into it and then I am dissappointed by their reactions. I learned to ignore it and just go on. to all the cuties who post their projects so regularly - great work and if I do not comment does not mean have not seen and enjoyed them. :) and ***
As a digitiser I would have to disagree, though not referring to the project you are writing about, which was only a matter of personal colour choice and still looked fabulous.
ONLY, when someone reduces or enlarges a design, that is not meant to be re-sized, and that re-sized design is ruined, doesn't stitch out correctly and looks disgusting. THEN, it should NOT be posted in projects without a NOTE clearly stating that the embroiderer RE-SIZED the design.
The reason for this is because, WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION THAT THE DESIGN HAS BEEN RE-SIZED, the ruined (re-sized) design could be seen as very poor digitising and could reflect very badly on the digitiser.
Now please don't say you can't understand why this would be so bad.

nothing wrong with what you are saying. If it is changed you need to be careful. I've done it once or twice and most of the time the result would end up in the cleaning bin to be used for washing floors etc. He he - I think I've learned the hard way.
What I was trying to get across was"Think before you comment"Don't be so negative. There is no reason to hurt feelings.
Well said :) We are all individuals with different ideas and should be allowed the freedom to express out individuality anyway we please without being criticized :)
Wonderful to have all the support from Cuties! The Cute who recieved the "comments" about the designs was is a verygood and special friend of mine and she is very hurt and embarresed (chat with her on-line most every day) and said she was thinking of not posting any more projects. I know when she sees this, she will be thrilled for all of the support to keep on going with her projects - she does a wonderful job! Thanks to ALL, you are wonderful Cuties!

I didn't see the post, but all I can say is keep up creating whatever you like and not worry about what others think. I have seen many projects that I thought were so creative and that is how it should be. Everyone is different and that is what makes it special.
special. Don't stop being you and how you do things. Life would be boring if we all did the same thing.
I do not know anything about hurtful remarks, as I'm rarely here anymore. Please encourage your friend to continue to come here and post her creativity!! Some of us LOVE the inspiration of thinking outside of the hoop!!
are not some importaint inventions made just by playing around and thinking out of the box ?
Just goes to show there's no pleasin' some folks Bev. Quite frankly-I thought the designs were used quite nicely. Atta girl-way to think outside the box!!I might even try some of that type now in the way that these were done.
Maybe she just did what I did...just used the colors her computer gave her and thought that was what it was suppose to look like? Just kidding, but it'd be so boring to be limited to just one color scheme. ME is a creative endeavor, unique to the person, and deserves our respect and support. Everything else really has no place here.
You mean like this, Lyns???
I'll frame it and hang it over my machine for inspiration when embroidering.
ha ha. FANTASTIC GIRLS!!! All cuties should have this hanging near their machine to remind us that we are brilliant & can do what ever we want. Lyn. xx
I too agree. There is no "right" or "wrong" way. It's what works for you. And upside down & purple sounds perfect to me. Lyn. xx
I agree with you. I had just been in projects and didn't see anything, but wasn't looking too hard as I was trying to get through as many as I could to see what others have done and how they've done it. I love to see how 2 people can use the same design and by just using different colors or adding another design with it. It always gives me ideas.
I have not seen the comment you are referring to, I probably would not be able to find it if I went looking. But I could not agree with you more. As a digitizer I love it when I see someone getting creative with my designs. I have seen my designs sewn in colors I would never have dreamed of. What is the point of having a creative hobby if you can't be creative?
Hi Alice....how are you? I have joined the ranks of non-smokers 9-weeks now!!!
Hugs..Vicki
CONGRATULATIONS Alice & Vicki-stick to it-you've gotten past the worst part of it-it only gets easier. It took me about 6 months or so before the smell of it about gagged me. So glad I quit-it's been 13 yrs. for hubby & I-we did it together. And just think of all the money you won't be sending up in smoke and ashes-jeepers, a pack here now costs $10-that's insane!
ink of all the money you won't be sending up in smoke and ashes-jeepers, a pack here now costs $10-that's insane!
Thanks, Lindalee.....need all the support I can get.....yeah the price is crazy and I can find alot better things to spend my money on for sure!! Am waiting for the craving to go away....it's better but not gone....
This will not make you feel any better but I gave up smoking over 30 years ago and sometimes I still have the craving!!!LOL
Wow you are both stars, Alice and Vicki. I'm so impressed that you've both stuck with it.
Good for you guys. Keep up the good work and spend your money on embroidery supplies instead. The freedom not to be a slave to a stick of tobacco is great and the cravings will become less and less.
Keep it up girls, it's been 18 years for me and I still want one on occasion but then I smell one and the urge goes away quickly!
Great work on quitting ladies! For Ray & me it has been about 7 yrs. We renovated Ray's house with the money we have saved. I couldn't imagine going through the 10 surgeries (since Dec 08)if I had still been smoking. Yikes!!!
I am sooooo proud of you two! My goodness I would NEVEr be able to quit! It's a good thing I never started, because I have such an addictive personality. I am really happy for each of you! Have you started smelling things yet??
Hugs, and strength to keep on keeping on! Jan
I was always taught "If you can't say somthing nice don't say anything at all." Arlene
That was one of my Nannas saying too and I loved her heaps and when I hear that ditto I remember all the good times and other sayings that she said
Oh my goodness, thank you so much for speaking up, Bev. I saw those rude remarks and considered the source......no one has the right to infringe on anyone's freedom of expression and this place is suppose to be a haven of support, not "ridicule".
Everyone knows I encourage people to play with my designs....it is fun to see what everyone else can do......Vicki
I have been testing for others and they tell me""Do it your way"but yes some are picky if it is an applique thats how they want it done,so i know what you mean .We all see things different and thats what makes life LIFE right?????hugs
I've never seen anyone be "put down" for their project, which one?
thinking outside the box is good...we could do so many different things out one single idea!!!!****
I totally agree with you. All of us have a different view of how we see our artwork. Embroidery is a canvas and we paint it the way we like our colours. So each to his/her own. Let us just enjoy being able to share each other's way of painting with thread. Lovies****
I may sew a design 3 times and each one is going to be different. I like to have fun with what I'm doing. Then i can say I did it MY way.
I agree, because we are all individuals and our colur perspectives differ as do our needs.**
You know our differences is what make us come back to see what others are doing with the same design. If you don't like don't coment...It is all in the eyes of the beholder. Who is to say what you do with something is great...would you not feel bad if someone cuts it down. The golden rule is do unto others as you will have done to you.(just saying)
Hugs Joann
