I will ask again as many may not have seen my post a few days ago ( I can't even find it!).

Has anyone used "tearaway/washaway" stabilizer? If so what is your opinion of it? I did order some and I am anxious to try it.

Nonna57 uses a lovely mesh looking, tearaway WSS and she loves it. I also tried it and I too like using it, far better than the film type.

Hi Nadyne,
check out this Canadian link, this is where I purchase all my stabilizers at very good prices, they have all types and you can watch videos giving you all the info about each type. This is very informative and I am sure this will help you decide which is best for you. It certainly depends on the types of fabrics you embroider on the most.
If you need more info, please send me a PM and I can do as I did with another cutie and send you some samples,
hugs from Montreal
Michelle

I bought a roll of lite wt. from ebay..it tears so easily I use 2 layers--but it appears to be made of dry starch..my bobbin area is full of white dust after a few uses.... Won't get this one again, tho I love how clean my finished projects are.

I bought some tearaway/washaway from designs by sick, it is quite a thick papery stabilizer. After trying it, it is now my favourite for embroidering towels.

By tearaway/washaway, do you mean the plasticcy type of washaway that's see-through? I tend to use that as a topper to keep the pile down, especially when embroidering towels, but I did use it for lace (not so successfully!) before I got some of the vylene type :) It tends to tear away at the edges unless you use a lot of layers in different directions.

Here's your previous question, if I found the right one. You could probably bookmark any question you write, so that you could go back to it later :)

I Have been using tearaway washaway, I am pretty happy with it because when I do towels and that sort of thing I want all the stabilizer gone. when I use regular tearaway it stays there forever if you don't get pick it all off.
Sorry I missed your post the other day.
Alice.
