TTT!!! I did not know I had questions unanswered. I have hardly come out of my sewing room for two weeks. Doing things for my sister for her Street Festival this week end in Tennessee. I have no idea if any of my things will sell. Kay
I love your scarves! You always come up with creative designs!
These are so nice. I know who ever receives these will love them. If you
don't mind sharing where did you find these lovely designs.
Lovely scarves, just one question - do you embroider on both ends or just one? Looks like a wonderful Christmas idea.
Just one; however I have a scarf collection from Anitagoodesign that finishes the edges. It is a cutwork edge and I think it will look better to put on both edges. Kay
These horse designs are just stunning. My daughter who used to ride and did dressage would love these on a scarf. Could you let me know where you found these please. This would be such a lovely Christmas gift for her.
Thanks.
Sandy
Answered in Grandmeaux1 post. I never buy anything on that site unless it is on sale. They are a bit pricey.
Cuties , glad you liked these. I think horses are special to a lot of people and I have been collecting designs for months now, but I have only opened a pandora's box. Flowers to all and I have enjoyed your comments. Kay
These are wonderful. My son just loves horses - we have 6 and are getting two more. Not sure why - haha.
Yes the fringe cutter is wonderful. I have used it when making blankets. I have tied blankets with 5 inch fringe. You are right it is about that time of year again.
We love horses and these are no exception,beautiful-T
A lot of near by homes have horses or own them and board then, if they don't have the property for them. I discovered their demand about 2 years ago. I have even put them on coasters.
I am posting the June Tailor fringe cutter for you to see. I think I bought it at Joann's in the section where all the quilter forms are.
Yes Kay, I love them. I love those designs, they stitch out so well/Lillian
These are beautiful. I am glad to see you posting more as I have missed seeing all the beautiful things you come up with. Great job and thank you for the info on the fringe cutter, going to look into this one.
Thanks , I have been to busy to be her very often. I do try to pop in when I can. Kay
Really pretty. I know these will be well loved. Did you get to the Yellow Daisy Festival this year?
No sweetie, I wanted to go but Sat looked like rain and I did not want to be there in the rain and I never go there on a Sunday after my first Sunday mistake. Last days of festivals are not the best. Did you go? The fall quilt Expo is coming up next at the Gwinnett Civic center.
Wow, these are spectacular, Kay! Those horse designs are so elegant, and I like the way you switched out the colors. Did you use a metallic, or is that just the camera flash, so shiny! Well done, hugs, Marji
Yes, Metallic one color on the right scarf. It was a beautiful gunmetal color and it gave me so much trouble that I did not use it in the one on the left. Kay
Kay, These are beautiful! I am sure that they will be well received! Are you through with the ones going to your sister? Be sure and post those if you have not already mailed them to her! Too bad we can't just jump in the car and take them to her. I am ready to go to Tn. Well... maybe in a couple of weeks! It is so beautiful in the mountains in the fall!
You know better than to ask. My sister sent me 4 doz bandannas to stitch and I am working on them. I hope to do a bunch before Oct. Kay
I have faith in your abilities! I am sure you will finish on time! I wish I was back home right now since son and DIl are going on a trip next week-end! I would grab a few friends and take off for Seveir county! It should be beautiful up there in a few weeks! Has Jan mentioned the changing colors yet?
These are beautiful and will make a wonderful present. Sarah.
my "Sweetie" always has a way of making me drop what I am working on to stitch something for one of his friends. I do like to do a special gift for a special person.
Lol are you going to be like these horses and off you Go starting again lol How many did you do last year at least 100??lol there all sewwwwwwww lovely hugs carolyn
Yes, a bunch and I am working on this year now. I love them! My two favorite fabrics to stitch on are feece and felt, Kay
Kay can you please tell us/me how wide and how long these are plus how long are your fringes??I might try one??hugsd Carolyn
The fringe is 5". I use a June Tailor fringe cutter (JT789). I buy the remnants from Joann's so I don't always have the same size fleece to work with. The scarves vary from 7" to 8". If I have enough to cut 3 crosswise strips and each in half then I can make each scarf approximately 90". If I only have enough fleece for 2 crosswise cuts, then I leave them whole and they are 60" wide as fleece is 60" wide. last year or year before, I did buy 2 yards of Christmas fleece and cut each length wise and ending up with 72" scarves, but I prefer the 90" as the young girls like them better. The 60" ones are perfect for younger children. Hopes this helps. I will post a photo of the fringe cutter if you like. It is a necessity! Kay
you got cut off can you write me a private??I think i would like to try one please
I love these. Blizzard & other non-pill fleeces are 50% off right now so I bought some yesterday!! Yours are an INSPIRATION!!
Can you please tell me where the design came from
I think it was OESD, Oklahoma Embroidery the pack was called Majestic Animals,. I will look up the #-if you can not find it. It is a beautiful pack. Kay
beautiful...I made all the men these as gifts last Christmas only I used sports designs on them. How long did you cut your fringe.
Hugs Joann
I have an acrylic type fringe cutter from Joannes and use rotary blades to cut, very easy!
I cut mine 5", however it it a matter that is pleasing to you. Someone suggested I knot each fringe, but it is too time consuming. If you knot it I would cut the fringe deeper. The fringe cutter I use will max at 8". Hope this helps. I did not see your question earlier. Kay
