i made them, but i like the ones made from fabric, i am making some for my first grandson, i used fabric diaper (do not know how to call it) I used a pattern found in the internet, i wrote, shaped burp diaper, using cotton batting i quilted all the fabric, then did the designs, the last step (not done yet) is to add ric rac, and or bias tape around them, i made 6, planning to do more, but i ran out of fabric, i will put them in Projects later.
I pre-wash almost everything that is going to be repeatedly washed. Have had a few moms indicate they don't like having the design in the middle section where the baby's face will be as it can be abrasive. So I'm keeping the designs on the ends.
My daughter in law, who is the mother of my grandchildren, doesn't really like the ones made with diapers. She much prefers the ones I make with diaper flannel. They have less pills, and are just as absorbent. You wash them once, and they are about as shrunk as they will ever get. They are easy, easy to iron too!
I think I would like to make a batch. Where do you get them in the U.S.?
Taget and Walmart have them. They are not the same quality as 20 years ago, but they work.
there is an internet site that sells prefolded diapers too, although I didn't shop there. www.diapers.com
