I have some. I use them on my Bernina and they are SUPER on ribbons, but I guess I'm just so used to my regular hoops, I haven't gotten them out often to use on other things. PS the magnet didn't bother my machine in the least. ;)
There ARE different types of magnets. If it is a reputable company that works in the business of sewing and sewing machines I would trust that they know what they are doing. These magnetic hoops have been around for several years. But please ladies don't use just any ole magnet around your machines.
When I had my Janome 11000SE it came with an 8x8 quilting hoop that held the quilt in place with Magnets that slipped over the quilt and base of the frame...I really liked the hoop and with I had a similar type for my Ellisimo...
I have one that I have not used yet, and was told that the magnets wouldn't hurt my Bernina by someone at the Bernina store. I am looking forward to trying it out.
I was curious about whether or not they would slide apart. Seems that if the magnets were strong enough not to slide, it would be very difficult to get your fabric/stabilizer tight and straight in the hoop.
I have one and hate it. it does not stay closed. The embroidery pops out after a while. it is frustreating. i would rather used regular hoops. Anyone want mine cheap! hehe Suzanne
Good to know.I see all the ads...but I trust "Cuties".

I have one that came with my new machine but I have not had the need for such a large design YET, but when I do I willnot hesitate to use is. I have been told that these are a different kind of magnet somehow & that they are safe to use!
Hi Nadyne
I have a ruby by viking and I inquired about the magna hoop and my dealer told me they were not recommended for my machine and he mentioned the magnet factor. of course my dealer would rather see me
purchase a larger machine so I don't know if he is really telling me the
truth,.
Anxious to see if any cuties use them
hugs
Michelle
