It's a super-cute bear, she will be thrilled!
Hugs. Lidia
The fabric is really in keeping with yr theme - love it
At least you have got yours finished. I have sewn all the parts but have yet to put it all together. Love the Canadian fabric. Shirley
Thank you Shirley. The fabric was all they had left, but I liked it. I was going more for just red and white, but Suedewsbury said it looked like Maple Syrup fabric, so that was even better.
The Maple Leaf Bear is adorable and she will remember Canada every time she gives it a hug. Like the placement of the Canadian Flag - nice touch.
Thank you. I don't know why but I always seem to put in on the butt somewhere. I am Canadian and don't think of myself as an ass, so why I keep putting it on the butt beats me....lol. I did a Jean shirt when I first got my machine and was putting all sorts of designs all over it for practice and the Canadian Flag ended up right on the butt. Didn't think that out too carefully...lol
Oh Jerri you made me laugh. You have such a great sense of humor. :) All joking aside your g-daughter's teddy bear is just darling. I'm not from Canada, but I am partial to maple leafs so this hits a warm spot for me too. Thanks for sharing with u
She is Awesome any Canadian would be proud to own her I would hugs Carolyn
Oh Jerri, I think your bear is just adorable! I love the flag on her bottom. How cute. Did you say you made this on your sewing machine rather than the embroidery machine? Is it bigger than 11 inches? You did a great job. Glad you finished. Hugs, Susan
Forgot to say I also think the button eyees are an improvement over the embroidered ones. :) Susan
Hi Susan: Thank you. I forgot to put add her tail and thought of it after I put on the little flag. I will send you a PM
I liked the button eyes also, the embroidered ones just didn't show up as well on this fabric.
Oh, I think she is very cute!! And I love that you used Maple leaf fabric. that will make your GD feel right at home, anytime, anywhere. Great job!!!
Thank you. The fabric was the reason I made the bear. She gets a little homesick and misses all her friends. They are going through the immigration procedure and haven't been able to come back home yet. Soon I hope.
This bear is adorable. I and your GD are glad you kept working until you finished it.
Teddy is so sweet. Where did you find the maple leaf fabric. My best friend family also moved to the US and I am making her son a quilt with all Canadian Embroidery things on it. Would love to use some of this fabric. Thank you and happy sewing/embroidery Brenda Lea
Hi Brendalea: I got the fabric at Fabricana in Coquitlam, BC.
I just bought 1/2 mtr, but do have probably 1/2 of that left. If your not needing too much, I could send you what I have left.
Just send me an PM with your mailing info. Hugs Jerri
What a perfect gift! great work & soooo Adorable!
I think it turned out great! The first one is always the hardest to make, then it smooth sailing the rest!
Thank you. I only have 4x4 hoop and tried to do it in the hoop, but just too small, so made it my way and a little bigger. Much easier to do.
She is maple syrup sweet!
Thank you, I never thought of the colours as being Maple Syrup, but that was the only Canadian Fabric they had left in the store. Should have thought of this around July 1st...when they have a much better selection.
