I use KING STAR.metallic thread normal needle and get no breaks...some metallic threads are always a problem a must would be a metallic needle, and slow down the machine,my machines are Brother
Got some great advice. I look forward to seeing your project! Live Laugh Download Stitch!
Try using a Metallic Needle size 80/12.
Slow machine speed down when embroidering with metallic thread.
Use a separate thread stand and place it a distance away from your machine so the metallic thread can unwind and relax before going into your machine
You could try lowering your top thread tension down just a bit and see if that helps with the thread breaks.
Are you using bobbin thread in the bobbin when you use the metallic thread as top thread?
I have a husqvarna Ruby also, I have embroider metallic thread with a metallic needle without breakage. It is important that the spoon is away from the machine, mine is up, but I think that down is well also.
The brand is important, my machine like " metallic superior thread" and "Royal"
Nonna, Here is my creation.
Thanks for the pic. I use a thread stand but this is very original. Clever you :))
I take my thread up and over a cupboard door Knob so that it comes from high up and so doesnt come to fast or kink also put your net over the reel to slow it down
Good advice from granniebear. You may need to place the spool hokder (use a coffee cup if you son;t have a spool holder)on the floor.
Did you use a metalic needle? slow the speed on the machine.Have the thread on a spool holder away from the machine as this helps keep the thread from getting kinks in it.
I have a chop stick with a safety pin on the top taped to the inside of a cup. This helps me embroider with metalic threads. I have the Janome 300E.
Great idea with the chop stick, would love to see a photo I have both the 300e and the 350e :)
