SO beautiful I love the doilies... My aunt used to make some for me..She died a few Christmas ago. I have those to treasures and memories.I wish I could do this... Suzanne
reminds me of my grandma, thanks for bringing back memories
Your crocheting is stunning - especially the pineapple and the ovals. #13 is a wonderful pattern, too. This reminds me of my grandmother's work, of which none of them - did I receive. Great job and continue to do this with the pictures - it is a great way to save the history of your work.
Beautiful.What talent. I can't even tie a pretty bow.I'll take #12 ..Pineapple design I think means friendship/welcome.
Shew i just love you crocheting patterns here in south africa its hard to get the monthly books anymore. Do you perhaps know of a site with graph patterns i cant read a crochet pattern i can only do the graph patterns thank you so very much. Hugs Rose
Hi Rose, I did a simple Google search and got many listings for symbol crochet and this site is one Good Luck

Thank you Noah, I was in a Thrift store once and found about 12 crochet magazines and cost only .25 cents each and all were the symbol type, a great find!
Just simply beautiful work.
Thank you for showing us your collection.

These are all stunning Dolly, I particularly like Number 12 the dining room table runner. It is fantastic. I love crochet too, but haven't done any for a while, the ME seems to grab me at every chance I have spare! Love and blessings Chris
Thanks Chris, I'm not a lover of pineapples but the nicer designs seem to be with pineapples!
your work is absolutely beautiful. you've got me looking through my old crochet books to find a project to make. thank you!
Very lovely - I used to do a lot of crochet and so love the pineapple designs - still have a book of patterns but they are all the reading type not the other - still,, just shout if you want something !
Thank you, I love fillet in the round like the table cloth but it's hard to find patterns!!
These are beautiful! I am especially fond of the pineapple designs. My mother did lovely pineapple projects. I have been fortunate to have received a couple of them after she died.
Dolly thanks so much for sharing with us. They are beautiful. I also do not like to sit watching TV doing nothing, or I fall asleep. haha
Hugs Yvonne
These are beautiful! The pineapple ones are my favorite I too crochet; have been making the name dollies. when I started making them almost gave up; couldn't get them to work out right. A friend shared her pattern with me and I can make them by it. it is a letter at a time. Hugs!
It sounds like you do fillet crochet, I love doing fillet in rounds so easy but I haven't conquered fillet in rown, they never match up he he
Great work! Glad to see that crocheting is making a come back! As a child my mother had to crochet so many inches of lace before she went to bed! Some of your doilies remind me of her.
Gorgeous!!! My Mom does alot of crocheing. Hugs, Rachel
WOW these are all so very beautiful I love no:7 it is unique
Your work is really lovely. I also have done some crocheting in my time. Years ago I worked with the fine cottons but in later years have only used the thicker threads. My eye sight is not the best these days, so do very little crocheting. Have been working on a rug for the past 20 years or so. Only have to do the edge up one side and it will be finished. It is done in 8ply wool. I tell people it is to be used when I go onto the old folks home. It covers a double bed. Hugs Shirley
I think I'd throw something away after not finishing it in 20 years LOL Thank you
Oh my they are so beautiful...Such talent... I wish I could do this too... Do you sell any? how about teaching someone to do this? Simply beautiful!!! Suzanne
Selling, no, it's my thing and teaching isn't fun unless the student is ready to 'listen' and not give up He He Thanks
Your work is just Lovely.
I do love #10 for its fine quality and 2 strands will give a sportish gauge. I made wedding boxes with the top in 10 thread and beaded for my sister- lot of work and a baby Irish crochet baptismal gown with 3d crochet roses and leaves in US 10.
I have coned 5/2 cotton and 3/2 cotton but havent used it for crochet yet.
How lovely are all of them. I never had enough patience to do it. But you sure are quite an artist with it !
These are really lovely. I started about 25 years ago crocheting what was to be a doilly, then it grew to a tray cloth, then table cloth and it is now being made into a bedspread. I used to take my crocheting everywhere in my handbag especially when I was on plane journeys, it really relaxed me; but since 9/11 and sharp objects (crochet hook) not being allowed this avenue of relaxation has now stopped. I too cannot sit in front of the tv without having something else to do, it seems such a waste of time. I have crocheted, cross stitched, knitted and have just finished making a lace shawl in black silk. Took me three years. Women just have to multi-task!!
WOW, 25 years making the project, do they still have the same thread?? I think they allow crochet and knitting needles now, too many have complained that a pensil will do more damage!!
Thanks for the reply
I bought a box of threads many years ago and have about 6 left. The only problem is that a certin piece of pattern has turned yellow so I think if it will not wash out I will have to dye it. Anyway it will have to wait until I finish it and give it a wash. Your samples are really beautiful and I really like the ones that are coloured. Well done.
I love dolies and a couple of these I also have done. I use the thin thread but I need to pick up the hook again, haven't made any in the last 7 years.Yours look lovely-Toogie
I love doilies and these are so beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
These are so beautiful . Like you I have never just sat infront ot the TV or before that Radio I have always done some craft or other. I used to Crochet and Tat with 40 and 20 cotton but sadly my eyes can no longer see them any more so I crochet rugs with 5 ply and 8 ply wool. With the TV going and my embroidery machine sewing away doing FSL. . Your Crochet is so beautiful enjoy it. Hugs Joyce
To have the embroidery machine going along with the TV would drive me crazy!! Thank you
He! He! . I dont have the machine that close to the TV. I set it going way over in the corner. Hugs Joyce
Stunning! Heirloom treasures, your time has been well used, Thanks so much for sharing your talent with us. I have inherited a few pieces and they are little treasures, because someone did spend their time and handiwork on them.
When ever my sister and I go to the Thrift stores we find so many crochet and cross stitch and comment that time was spent on them only to be donated..... not every one appreciates them! Thanks
Wow, love them, they are super-beautiful!
Hugs, Lidia
Beautiful! I am so glad you shared the pictures with us. It brings back memories of growing up and watching my mother create beautiful things like these.
Those are truelly amazing. You are so gifted. Beautiful, fantastic, wonderful.

Wow dolly, so much patience.
I have never learnt to crochet, but really admire those that do. Such a delicate craft. Just beautiful.
The size thread I use is not delicate at all but they do finish nicely. I think Tatting is delicate and tried it but gave it up when I found out you can't tear out rown he he Thank you
Your work is gorgeous!! I can see you have spent many hours on crocheting. I too love the art of crochet. Hugs, Mary
Yes I agree with everyone, your work is beautiful, I have not done this type of work for years, in fact, not since I got my machine, but I also do hand embroidery at night watching tv with hubby, well done, I love your work.
Well now that I am in control of the remote (I'm widowed) tv is much more fun and years ago I too did cross stitch but gave it up for my eyes LOL Thank you
Beautiful, intricate work, Dolly. You've been very productive over the years haven't you?. I've got a few I've done, including the pineapple design, but I've never mastered the symbol patterns you speak of as generally our patterns are in text as you know. Jan
Yes, I've done quite a collection and am always on the lookout for new patterns that I like. Thanks Jan
