Great shape!
In Denmark we often use wheat grain for filling - it's good to be used cold from the freezer as well as warm from the micro wave

Funny shape, looks like bumerangs. I'm sure they are wonderful in the neck :o)
For all who are interested in the filling: You can buy grape pipes here in Germany from special sellers who offer fillings for cushions and heat pads. Mine has many biological products and also an interesting index how long the different filling holds the heat. They don't have a translation-tool, sorry.
On the pic you can see how big the size-differences are. Left side you see the cherry pipes, in the middle at top spelt/wheat/rye and under them the grape pipes, at the right rapeseeds at top and currant pipes.
Greetings, Bettina

Is there no seller for biological food where you live? I buy my cereals in 1kg-packs (about 2,3 lb) which they regularly sell for people who wanna do flour milling by their own p.e. for muesli ;o)
I put them in my oven when I have baked something to use the residual heat to dry them a little bit more and kill everything what could be in it.

rice sorry

ansalu by ansalu 26 Oct 2012

Hello Carolyn,
in Germany we are not used to fill heat pads with rice. Most heat pads here are filled with cherry pipes (they dont soak when remove a spot on the cover and hold the heat very good) or with cereals. For babys I use the grape pipes cause they are lighter and finer :o)

This is a very nice design as I can see how it would be nice for neck and back. How do you get the grape seeds? Though a winery or bulk somewhere? I have used corn and made covers small packs but I like this hotdog style shape.

Here in Germany there are special sellers who offers fillings for cushions and heat pads like cherry pipes, grape pipes, wheat etc. I have just bought raspberry grapes, they are so fine like sand.

What are wine grape seeds? I have made bags filled with shelled corn which holds heat longer than rice which is sometimes used. Mine have a removable outer cover which is washable. Good to warm your feet in a cold bed too.

That are the pits of grapes. You can buy them at sellers for fillings (mostly biological). They don't soak and so you can wash these kind of heat pads carefully by hand. Same with cherry pipes (they are more coarse) so I use grape pips for baby-heatpads

shelled corn i can maybe find that not sure but can try lol thanks

noah, shelled corn can be purchased where they sell bird food and at this time of the year you can find it at Walmart in the hunting supplies. It is packaged by Remington for baiting.
