A third friend joined us for one day. She had a lot of great ideas as well. It was truly and adventure in Machine Embroidery. A fourth friend showed up to see what the crazy ladies were doing.:0)

You have been very busy, and I bet that you had a very special time. I think that we all could use one of those vacations - what fun that must have been.

You two have been busy!! Great idea to get a retreat like this. Would not want to do it on my own, now I have to start looking for a kindred spirit. Flowers for you.

Yes we had a lot of fun and accomplished a lot. Before I left home some of my children called and said "Mom you and Leah be good we don't want to get any phone calls and have to come and get you" That was what I always told them when they were teenagers and going somewhere. How could we get into any trouble, we were embroidering all the time. All it took were some fun ideas and a bowl of peanut M&M's. Friends are great and help keep you sane.

I showed one of the pictures to my DH in Brazil. His comment "Whatever room you did that in is sure messy now". I ask you "isn't that what a dining room is for"? When the sewing room is too full for the second machine. Realistically it would have been very difficult to have that second machine set up in the sewing room, I would have had to move one of the other 8 sewing machines, or my scrapbooking equipment. It was just easier to use the dining room.

Wow, I love it - so many machines and rooms, too!

grandmapapers by grandmapapers 25 May 2008

A home has to have a sewing/craft room to be able to escape to for a little sanity once in awhile.

Leah, what was the occasion - looks like you made two of everything or more. It sure is nice to embroider with a friend, isn't it? I would have had a ball with the two of you. Keep the items coming. *4U

It was a time out for us. My DH bought me a second emb. mach. so we decided to break them in. I had the number 1 machine for 1 month when I got #2. (It is still lost in Brazil). We have been best friends for a long time and the stresses we have been through over the last few years needed a retreat. We had a lot of laughs, little sleep, some tears, and a deep appreciation for our husbands and families. We have lived away from each other for 5 years. It was a great reunion. As we eyed the photo tonight we realized that most of what we made has been gifted out. It must be time to do it again. We will invite you to the next one!

shirlener88 by shirlener88 24 May 2008

Great idea, I think I would love it.

grandmapapers by grandmapapers 24 May 2008

Bring your ideas and peanut M&M's. Years ago when we lived in the same town and got together for a fun day of crafts, my DH named them "Pity Parties". Yeah pity anyone that couldn't join us. I'm sure he used to wonder what we would do next. Don't worry it's all good and fun.

shirlener88 by shirlener88 25 May 2008

It is wonderful that you got together to have so much fun, too! How much fun can a couple ladies have? LOT's!
