I know that some of you have more experience with emb. software than I do, so I have a couple of questions.I have PED basic (easy) and the Floriani program that came free with my machine( I have not used this as I haven'tfigured it out entirely). I also have sewiconz. I have noticed a sale at another site for Embrilliance Thumbnailer and Embrilliance Essentials. So I would like to know if it would be to my advantage to invest in this package or does what I have essentially do the same things? I would appreciate any input. Thanks.

You might want to check out the Sew What Program as it is an editing program for designs.
It resizes designs, allows you to combine designs, allows you to add letters or words from Alphabets that are already digitzed to designs, cut parts of designs out, convert from one design format to another format. And so much more.

The program is $65.00 US.
You can download the program and try it out for 30 days or 60 saves I think and then you would have to purchase it or remove it from you computer.
It is a pretty easy program to use.

There is also a Yahoo group that you could join and ask questions .

The developer of the program, Steve at Sands Computing, and the members of the group will answer all your questions.

The Sew Iconz program that was mentioned earlier is a program developed by Steve and is much like your Thumbbnailer program which allows you to actually see a picture of your designs in Windows Explorer that you have saved to files on your computer.

Have a look at the Sew What Pro program and see what you think of it.

Clcik the link below for the Sew What Program.

Thank you SEW much! This really helps. It is less expensive, and I can try it out first! It is there any time I wish to give it a try, and is associated with something I already have! :-) This was coming from "Santa" so I may have to wait awhile...but THANK YOU !!

The answer depends on what Floriani software came with your machine - there are different versions (some that allow you to view/print out designs all the way to full digitizing software)?

Again I am not sure how to work with the Floriani software. It just comes up on the screen and I can import a design and re colour it....I think it resizes butI have no instructions and do not want to mess around and lose something... Their ad always comes up with more to buy but I am not sure about going there. I am hopeless I know but other than cuties I have no one else to ask!
Thanks for responding,Hugs, Nadyne

Okay, I think I know what you have then... It would have a little less functionality than PED Basic. Your sew what icons is like embrilliance thumbnailer. I use Embird Basic (and I have Embird Iconizer vs. sew what or embrilliance) and I like it alot. I use it to do what you want to to - combine designs, take out parts of designs, resize designs, etc. While it will allow you to resize more than 10% remember that it can impact the quality of the design if you go much more than that - so you will always want to test stitch anything you shrink/grow - no matter what software you use.

Thanks so much for this!

Embrilliance Essentials is an editing program for designs and not a digitizing program .
It allows you to combine designs, size designs add lettering to designs etc.

I don;t know how that compares to PED Basic or your Floriani program.
Are they both digitzing programs?

Neither program that I have does digitizing and that is not what I want anyway. What I want is to combie designs, resize(my PED basic does up to 10%),and to be able to print a sentence or group of words as opposed to stitching one letter at a time. Also I think the thumbnailer lets you see what is in folders without having to open each one first.?
Thanks, Nadyne

Hi Nadyne,

The SewIconz and Embrilliance thumbnailer basically do similar things. I can't help you with the PED etc. but I am sure someone will come along soon and help you out. Love and blessings Chris
