Good job! I've been doing that a long time (or similar) and now my grandson's are having me repair theirs! For a while there my hubbies coveralls had more patches than orig. fabric! - better than buying new as would have holes within a week!
What we do for our families - and love it!
slippers look great :-)...I mean pants ! i bet if you ever needed to do it ('cos the jeans was almost at the end of its life) then they would disagree. Now 'cos they ask for it..it is fashion...(reminds me of when I was young)
I did this to my son's also, but told him I couldn't do it again. The patches are now stronger than the surrounding fabric!
Great job. The thing we do for our kids..... guess they know us. It is amazing what they want us to rescue..I have had everything from a broken zipper on jacket and sweatshirt to go figure--- favorite footie thingies with the non-skid dots on the bottom.. But we love it
Looks a little bit like my favorite jeans. The inside of the thighs gets thinner and thinner and so I ironed firstly a patch on it and later sewed a big patch from the left side to strengthen that part. This jeans fit so perfect and make me look skinnier so I try to save her :o)
Greetings, Bettina
My eldest daughter is forever blowing out the knees of her jeans, so I know what you mean about patch work. I think the jeans are vintage now and worth much more than 100.00 dollars :)
Good Job! but I had to giggle at your camera strap hanging in the pictures, I do this a lot too LOL
Way to go, you can tell your son them pants are now worth $150. I do patches a lot and it is one of those dread projects.
My SIL is a welder and is always getting burn holes in his shirts and jeans. I have been doing the same kind of patches for him for over 20 yrs. He and his son my GS#! done care that they have patches just as long as they don't have to buy new ones to work in.
lol for sure but i still hate doing that kind of sewing but its all about others not yourself right???hugs
It's hard to give up a favorite pair of jeans. Our son bought a pair of them (same name brand) and I was, "Can't believe you brought a pair with holes in it." He laughed at me and said I couldn't sew them up. lol
Patching can be a bear. My husband wears overalls and manages to get holes in them all the time - from who knows where. Of course he doesn't need fancy patches, but I do know what you went through. Nice looking pants. Glad your son let you redo the patches so he is still in stiyle and not just throw them out and go buy new ones.
Reuse,recycle;proud of you both...only a mother's dedication....
way to go MOM now he can still wear these! Hugs Loralye~
