A 10 year old girl-(Olivia) that I was babysitting wanted to make a pin cushion. So I used mops design. She wants to learn to sew too. She loves coming here @ our house.

Yes I don't like that Home Ec class isn't offered much anymore in high school.

I took Home Ec many years ago and learned to sew on a Singer Treadle machine. I loved my teacher and thank her to this day for all she taught me. Please encourage this sweet child to continue learning and I'm so happy you are teaching her!!

Supposedly she is asking for sewing items, knitting items, crochet items, stuff like that for Christmas

She did a nice job on it. She has a good roll model to teach her.

We had done another but had to do it on heavier fabric because of a blowout near the edge. Material on the first was very thin. 2nd one I used a duck/canvas type cloth. :)
