This is one of the dress patterns from Sonia Showalter. This was my test dress for the pattern. I cut down the armhole facings and then chose the one that I thought was close. I won't know for sure how well it fits until I see my g-daughter. I forgot that I had to sew it in and that would make it even bigger. I also goofed and had sewn down the top edge of the skirt before I cut the armholes out. I was not thinking that day apparently.

The first picture is the front of the dress. The second picture is the back of the dress. The 3rd picture is the entire dress. I have not washed away the stabilizer yet, nor have I picked out the ribbon to type it with. Any suggestions? :)

Very pretty. I have purchased one of those designs and plan to make dresses for my 2 gds for Easter. Any advice about fabric choice or stitching? Hugs. Nan W

This is just cotton so I think you will be ok with whatever you use. Don't know about a satin material - it would be interesting to find out. Sonia recommends that you starch the fabric and that is what I did before I embroidered and I think that helped a lot. The only problem I had was getting close enough to the stitches when I cut the material from the WSS before the final stitch. You would have to be extra careful on satin due to the raveling.

Thank you. This was my favorite of the 3 bodice patterns Sonia had. Looking forward to making the other two.

I am not sure where the ribbon goes but that pretty pink (fushia) color would look great against the darker color, I think

The ribbon goes through the eyelets on the shoulders. I was thinking pink also. Thanks for the suggestion.
