Sometimes Cuties send me pics that need sharpening, resizing or cropping but they're about the only things I tweak for digitising purposes.
Photoshop Elements, as mentioned by Lidiad, usually comes free when you buy a printer or digital camera, so before you spend your hard earned money, check the software discs that came with any cameras or printers you may have.
Load the disc, right click and EXPLORE or if it has a menu, check the menu for extra's.
Hope this helps. Hugs and New Year's blessings, Meg
I have used Adobe Photoshop for years, while I was working, to spruce up photos for brochures. Now I'm using Adobe Photoshop Elements which is inexpensive and more than adequate for my own photos. Love it!
Hugs, Lidia
If you're digitizing manually, most of the time you wouldn't really need to spruce up pictures. Photo programs are a lot of fun to play with, though, and I have several. But even perfect photos won't make perfect digitizing if you're trying to auto digitize, unless somebody's got a miracle program I haven't heard about yet. But far be it from me to keep you from getting software, hee hee hee, I collect that almost as badly as I collect fabric. I don't have games on my computer, I have software I play with. If you can afford it, go for it, it's fun. Hugs, Marji
Same here Marji. I have Adobe Photoshop Pro, (my boss gave me the whole program when I left work) but for speed and convenience I am still using an outdated, no longer supported or available program, Microsoft Photodraw. It was years ahead of its time and totally stable, (probably the reason Microsoft scrapped it! LOL!)

I use it. It came with my camera years ago and I use it to brighten too dark pictures, crop, crop, rotate, get the horizon horizontal, combine 2 or more pictures. Simple and fast. Have not yet tried adding text or working with layers
My husband has used Adobe Photoshop for years. He loves it.
