this is stunning - it'll be awesome when finished!
I am new to quilting but this is stunning. I love the color you used and would like to know how many block are there?
Absolutely beautiful. Your son and DIL must have had a beautiful wedding. Love the sunbonnets. You have put a lot of work into this quilt.
What a beautiful Christmas pressie!! Lovely work and I wish you good luck with the rest of the quilting and finishing off. Please shoe the final product when you have finished.**
Quilting is my first love and I just had to linger over your photographs and gaze at each little detail. For me, one of the best parts of a quilt is touching it, and I so want to run my hands over it! I guess that's why they have those ladies with white gloves patroling the quilts at quilt shows...to guard against people like me. As much as I'd want to say that this is a heirloom project, I more want to say I hope they have it out and use it every day and enjoy it. I want their children to crawl on it and look at the pictures and know that their grandmother made it. Save all leftover fabric so that if it gets old and worn, you'll have a "patch kit" available and no one needs to fret if a baby throws up on it. Take you time quilting it and please post photos when you finish!
Thanks Penny you sound just like me .I also like to see how well they matched the seams and to look at their corners lol .I am on the 3d row of quilting right now .It is slowww goinggg hugs
Hope you don't mind me jumping in here, but it is so good to know I am not the only one itching to touch quilts. I went to a quilt show a couple of weeks ago and they gave each person a plastic glove as they went in. Mine came home to the trash. I understand why they do it but it is the feel of the quilt I want. And I agree with you I hope they make loving use of it.
Your Son and Wife are going to love it...To use fabric from their wedding..I would say this is a double keepsake. Congratulations on getting it to this stage. Needless to say it is beautiful. Your are so talented. May I ask what kind of machine you are quilting it on? I take it the machine is quilting each section and you are not freemotion quilting like my Mom did before machines were invented that do so much. So looking forward to seeing it quilted.
your right i am quilting each square on my Husqvarna Topaze on a 10x7 frame !!hugs
I have to say I admire you. Is there anything you can't do? I know your son and wife will treasure it. It's a wonderful quilt.
Bev
What a wonderful job you have done Carolyn. Do yourself a favor and set a timer beside your machine for every 45 minutes. Get up after the 45 min and move around and stretch, especially your arms and shoulders and you will flash right through this big boy!
Beautifull job Carolyn - take it slow and easy - Hugs Glenda x0x0x0
