A big welcome from South Africa to you ! Keep checking in regularly and look at the posts under freebies - a lot of them are for kiddy and baby type designs. There are also links to websites with pages of free designs and a lot of the other websites have freebies from their design sets on the page that the design set is on - look at the bottom ! Please be aware that some of the free designs that you find will not be available for sale on garments. The designer usually puts a note to this effect somewhere. There are also a lot of free designs at Sew Forum which you will have to join - it is free !
I just want to add my "Welcome to Cuties". You will love it here. Look around, fill free to ask any questions, and share your work in projects. We love to see what other people have done. There are lots of experts here in many different areas, so don't be afraid to ask any questions. Sounds like you may be becoming addicted like the rest of us. Have fun. Mylinda from Kansas USA
Be sure to do a practice stitchout of the design on fabric similar to the garment you are putting the design on. Babywear tends to be stretchy and soft and may need stabilizers suited to the fabric and something to keep the inside soft so it doesn't scratch the baby's skin.
Welcome - glad to have another member from UK! (WE are outnumbered.)
You will find plently of inspiration here.
Welcome Charlie!! FIRST take a look through our own DBC section, over 6,500 designs by our talented Cuties for free! Good Luck
Welcome to Cute Charlie!!! Great Site and we all love machine embroidery plus a lot more stuff. Hugs. Judy
Welcome to Cute. I think your best bet would be to go to the FREEBIE category and go to some of those links. After all this is where companies try to sell their designs by giving you free ones. Check out all of this site here and the sister sites Cutealphabet and Amazingdesigns and consider paying for a membership. I believe they are on sale now. You would find soooooo many to download.
Hope you will like it here

Welcome to the Cute family. It would be helpful to know what you are looking to do. Are you looking for designs to embroider on clothes, items like burp cloths and so on? Ask us specific questions. We love to share information.
In order to help it would be nice to know hoop sizes for your machine. Brand and model number also a help. Do you have embroidery software? Is it digitizing or editing software and which one(brand)? How does machine read designs, thumb drive, special card, direct connect to compute, reader box, or other?
Welcome and enjoy the tutoring available from people knowlegable about your machine.
