I have a question. In recent months I have purchased 2 designs from 2 separate designers that had obvious flaws in the designs. I have emailed both designers to let them know about the problems. Yes, I did it nice! I expected to receive the repaired designs after they were fixed. What I got in both cases was nothing...not even a reply. Is this normal? I can't imagine doing business this way. These were not free designs. I feel the designs should have been fixed before they were offered for sale, both flaws were very visible once I saw the design in my software. At least they should have been repaired and sent to me, or something?????

That is unforgivable,,,,I do text designs by request sometimes...I do not charge for them.....but when sending I ask the recipient to let me know if there are any problems....and I will work to fix if there is...and NO ONE is paying me!

Please name the designer... I don't want to get stuck either with bad designs.... I am learning to digitize and would never release a bad design even for free...

I'm giving them another chance to do the right thing first. I just can't believe they do business this way! Maybe I'm being naive!

Praises for Daffy Down Dilly. A dress for a paper doll set I bought did not fit. Upon notification, she immediatley sent a refund to Paypal and took the bad design off her site. Can't ask for any better.

That's how it should be. If people are paying you, it should be done right.

Please let us know who it is if you do not get satisfaction. I buy designs on the Internet from websites and will avoid them like the plague if I know who they are ..............

I purchased 2 designs from a "reputable" site that claimed to be for a 6x10 hoop but only came in 5x7. I emailed the seller - no response. I then lodged a dispute with paypal and my money was refunded. No problems. xx

I would try once again to contact them. Your e-mail could have got lost in cyber space. You deserve to have a design that is free of flaws. Also, if you got a multiple zip file you could check the other formats. I have found that when a design is duplicated into several formats sometimes a stitch or something is lost in the process.

I didn't have a badly made design, I had a misspelled word. This was a paid up subscription, and I wrote to the yahoo group, nicely telling her she used "marshmellow" instead of "marshmAllow". I was informed that she had seen it both ways, and basically it was implied that it was too bad. Over 10,000 members of the yahoo group, and not one more person spoke up. (She has them all rather cowed). I waited months, and then wrote directly to her to ask what the type font was, so I could change it myself and use the whole alphabet, and she refused to even tell me what it was. She had to pay to digitize it, and it would be too much trouble to make the word for me. Nice, huh. Last time I ever buy from her. And she is constantly doing things for others on her site. Live and learn.

Geez, what happened to customer service?

They have lost you as a long-term customer. I usually look at the reviews[sometimes it helps, if I think they are genuine]

I had a problem a year or so ago with a design. I emailed them and said there was a problem. I got a reply on how download, correctly and a few other choice tips. I replied that I had done all their suggestions before I had contacted them to say there was a problem. Eventually there was an apology and the complete design. I would contact again and go on until you get a reply

I think it is terrible to not even get a reply. PLease try once more and if no reply please name and shame them here, so we can all be warned not to buy from them.

It's just hard for me to believe they don't care about keeping someone they know will give them money!

You do not state what the design represents. If it should happen to be of a licensed or other copyright protected design you may be in recept of an illegal design and, therefore, unlikely to hear back from the digitizer.

No, it's not illegal It's a chicken. Neither was illegal.

If the designs were wrong for you, they must have been wrong for others who purchased them as well. Sometimes I don't stitchout designs I buy for a long time, but those people will be in for a surprize when they do. So it behooves the digitizer to fix the problem early so that she'll be ready for future requests. Common sense to me. After waiting for 2-3 weeks for a reply, I'd write another nice letter inquiring again about your problem.

That is exactly what I thought. I looked on the site and, knowing what to look for, it is still wrong. It is obvious when stitched out. I had this set a while also before I stitched them and find it hard to believe I am the only one who told them about it. I wrote again today so we'll see.

i hope you let us know who they are because i don't want to spend money for their designs if they don't help if there is a proble. i have bought several designs over the past years with a problem here & there & have had only 1 designer that didn't help me, needless to say i don't shop there regardless the sale!

When saving to formats that are not the native format for the digitizing software errors can occur a lot. You might try requesting a different format if you can convert it yourself. I often ask for dst format when I get a design with an error. The dst format is one that many machines and software programs can read. I have found that it is the least likely to contain errors during conversion.

I don't think it's a format issue, it's really just not finished well. They should have both seen that in the finished design. I don't fault that so much as I do just ignoring a customer. That's just wrong and poor business practices.

I agree. Especially since you paid for them! I sometimes get flawed designs in the freebie, but that's ok...you get what you pay for & I didn't pay anything! But to purchase a design & get no reply is another thing! I bet but won't be doing business with them anymore!

If I don't get new files, I certainly won't buy from either of them again. Would they think otherwise? I don't get doing business that way.

I totally agree with you...I purchased a collection CD and there were a few collections that were corrupt...it took me 8 months before I finally received the new files...I e-mailed the designer at least twice a month for 8 months...She sent me a couple of replies and said she sould send, but I never got them...I sent a note through her Yahoo site...finally, I just said..if you're not going to send me the corrected files, just let me know and I will stop bothering you...then I finally got the corrected files...glad to get them, but what a pain...

And I bet that was the last time you bought anything from her!

bowlds by bowlds 24 Nov 2012

I'm guessing that was the last of your money they got!

ssampsel by ssampsel 24 Nov 2012

is the designs that hard to correct? i know nothing about digitizing, but if it has a flaw you surely can't use it.

bowlds by bowlds 24 Nov 2012

I don't digitize either but I'm guessing it could be fixed fairly easily. Seems like the digitizer should be the one to do that.

dragonflyer by dragonflyer 26 Nov 2012

In my case the zip file was corrupt so I have no way of fixing a digitizing error...I paid for files that were corrupt and it took eight months for the owner if the site to FINALLY make it right...tenacity paid off but I paid the price of constantly being persistent that she make it right...she finally did, but I will NEVER buy from her again!

bowlds by bowlds 27 Nov 2012

Yes, I feel they didn't have to hound me for my money when I bought the designs, I shouldn't have to hound them for a good design. Seems logical to me!
