My grandparents had an outhouse. I was always afraid of what might come up through that hole and get me. Most times I made my mother take me. This one is cute though not scary at all. The cuff idea is wonderful.
Thanks Workbecky. You obviously didn't have the family seat - just imagine . . . more than one hole would have been terryfying. :-) :-)
Loved reading all the comments about this fun design, so many of them brought a smile to my face just remembering my own experiences, some of which were very similar...Great idea using a cuff elenu..*4U all
It's been a good design Sqdancer because it's made such a wonderful topic of conversation all about memories.
Sure can!And I remember the old peppercorn tree at the back of the loo with it's branches scratching the walls and scaring us half to death! And the red back spider on the toilet seat!(I can hear a song coming on).Oh, and last but not least, there was the man that used to come to clean the cans. And I used to think, "hope not now!".
Oh dear Mpo, who'd-a-thought we would have such a wonderful fun time discussing TP & all it's associations!!
Oh how well I remember the outhouse. ceptin there was usually an old Sears Roebuck Catalog n there instead of TP. LOL *4u ELENU
in the good old days we had torn up newspaper with string punched through one corner hanging on a nail. And my grandfather was the man that collected the pans. on his old clydsdale and cart. he also collected the rubbish and he was also the richest man in town and owned most of the land around in the town not including the farms. * for you it brings a lot of memories back. job well done.
Oh dear yes - I can even remember tearing up the newspaper into the squares. I couldn't reach the nail to hang it on so that was someone else's job!!Our 'collection' man was also the Town Crier, he used to ride on a three wheeled bicycle and his bell sat on a shelf at the back. I can still hear him calling 'Pea pickers wanted' Don't remind me of all these things Ezzemmi - all unbelievable to our offspring.(Not surprising is it?) :-) :-)
Great job!!I also like the cuff idea.Especially where the designs some more dense than others. Flower for your sharing
Jean, this is darling and makes me want to get one started, too! We are all very thankful that Beth found the design location and I expect to see many of these popping up soon. Hehehe! Great work, as usual. *4U Shirlene
You know my dh built me a outhouse, hehehe, just for storing my garden tools. We are always doing funny things. I love the design
We bought our 5 acre properety 3 1/2 years ago and yes we really do have an out house here. Not in use of course, thought we will use it for garden tools as well.
Reminds me of days on my Great Aunt's farm.... Needless to say, we tried not to drink too much before we went there...
Lovely job on the cuff. I made special note where I put this design this last time :D. I was really thinking of doing one on the TP itself, but with these pics of the cuffs, I think I will make mine on cuffs. *4U ><>
Good job, and thanks - I think mine will have to be done on cuffs from now on - Very rustic looking outhouse, don't you agree?
I admire you for 'doing it' on the roll . . . I mean embroidering . . . the design is quite heavy. I know I would have had problems. Thanks Dionnahawkins.
Donna may I have the link to this design/project please. I have missed it. Thank you kindly Kezza
It stitched out very nicely, elenu. Well done on a another good project. *4U Do you ever sleep?
Yes, I do sleep Shirley! . . some . . I was a carer up to 3 years ago, being 'occupied' hasn't left my system yet.
