I too like to quilt, top stitch, following the top design, it gives a 'lighter' feel and is more airy. Great Job, you stitched the blocks on top of the base material? not sewed pieces together to form blocks then assemble, good idea!
I'm ready to roll up in it! This will be enjoyed for many years to come. Good work!
I too have embarked on a quilt of love for someone, but had to move the sewing machine to an area that had more room and was so hot a few times had to get my husband to bring me a drink...was sewing fleece in SEP in Louisiana...it was great the satifaction I get everytime I see him under it made the aching muscles and strained eyes worth it.
Well i live in the bush in Northern ,Ontario and today it 16 f or -12 cel. and we got 4 inches o9f snow :(:(
Beautiful both front and back..They will treasure it and love it
You really are very talented arent you! Love your work!!!
Your quilt is beautiful! I am sure Cory and Lyane will treasure it.
This is lovely! I am soooo impressed. What beautiful work!
Hugs, Nadyne
Carolyn, You have a done fantastic job. As a quilter a few of those sashing strips look very wide (but it is hard to tell in a picture). If you place your hand down with fingers spread onto one of those areas and your hand stays only in that un-quilted area, you might want to rethink about making one or two running stitches in the larger areas. After a number of washing's the batting begins to shift in large areas that have not been quilted. Check your instructions on the batting bag/container to see what their recommendation is. Love that wedding ring quilt under it too. cj
Your quilt is lovely. Thanks for showing the back detail - I really like the effect you have created by quilting the blocks. I am yet to try quilting, but am working up to it!
all I can say is wow wow wow!!!! you are amazing!!!!****
Great job, Well dome. Love the way you have done the label. Hugs Shirley
What a beautiful gift this is going to be. Your quilting idea is great, love that look. Doesn't it give you a wonderful feeling of satisfaction to have it completed--had to be more fun than going out shopping on black Friday!!
lol they just started that here and we had a snowstorm so i sat and quilted lol hugs
How lucky your kids are to be receiving such a lovely gift..great job..
hi carolyn your quilt is loely i bet your shoulders know it today have a bit of a rest today...lol...soozie
This is so adorable - how could you do it in two days only? You must be a wizard or quilting fairy? I never have done a quilt so far; therefore, I am not the person to know about time required but I sew and embroider for long years and know how difficult it sometimes is. Congratulations to your children for getting this lovely present and for having such an ex-
perienced mom (in law). Maria
Thanks i had the top done awhile ago i just put it all togeather and Quilted it and put the binding on in two days, not the entire quilt hugs
It is beautiful & sew is the double wedding ring quilt underneath! hugs Loralye
My God, very beautifull ! I never could do that in 2 days ! lovely
Absolutely fabulous, Carolyn...your kids are so lucky to have such a creative mom!
you are so fast.. do you ever sleep.. this is stunning work.. truly an Heirloom..
You did a marvellous job on this fab quilt. Congratulations!! It looks superb.
I can see the 2 days long into putting together here. Also see many days of designs choice and making before hand. You have done a wonderful job making and sharing. I wish my king would have been done this way. The cutting of squares and snip, snip, snip, snip and other things going on has mine starring at me. I will get it done. I hate on going projects. The red neck phrase Get er done is a good line to follow. :) & hugs from my ♥
Yeah, you've finished a mammoth task! Thanks for all the pics, helps to understand the difference quilting the designs makes. I like the effect, too.
Great Work Carolyn, I am sure they will be thrilled and know how much love when into the making...big hugs Glenda x0x0x
