I have a question. I have stitched two non-applique nor FSL designs on a piece of muslin. My daughter wants to cut them out and glue them on a bottle that she is making into lights for her kids. My question is - is there something that we can put around the edges so that of the material/design that will kind of seal it so that it does not unravel?

If you are gluing them on a bottle, the glue should keep the fabric from unraveling. The edges should be cut clean so there are not little threads sticking out when you go to put it on the bottle.

If you want the raw edges just use the Dritz Fray Check or fabric glue they sell at Joanns. Just don't over apply or you will have crispy stiff edges that look wonky

You know come to think of it she could decoupe it on with Mod Podge and probably get the best results

The Mod Podge will keep it from fraying? Thanks for the idea.

Why don't you back it with another piece of muslin...put right sides together sew around..leave a small opening, turn right side out and sew the opening closed. Make it into your own "applique". If you don't want to use muslin, use a piece of lightweight interfacing...with interfacing you could place right sides together, sew around the shape, cut 1/8-1/4" around, slit the interfacing in the middle and flip turn to right side out...we do this to make our appliques for our quilts so they don't have raw edges...
