Prayers are with the families that lost loved ones in the Sandy Hook school shootings. This is so scary.

What a tragedy we will never understand. I had a son-in-law murdered in a robbery at a gas station 24 years ago and it still hurts. He was 26 and married to my daughter a year and a half she was 22. That was hard but I cannot imagine the heartache that these families are going through all I can do is ask God to take care of them and keep them wrapped in his arms through all of this

I am so sorry to read this. I can know it is something you can never forget nor get over. My cousin was head of the Swat Team. He was on holidays, but went to work as it was a case that he had been working on. When they entered the basement suite where the guy lived, my cousin got shot in the neck and died instantly. They didn't know that the guy had a police scanner,so he was waiting for them. Its over 20 years ago and I still think about it often..
I am sure God and his Angels are holding these victims close to them and giving them the love they need at this time.

I also pray that somehow they find a way to stop this from ever happening again.

I second this. I just don't understand how or why someone could even think about something as horrific as this.

jerrib by jerrib 15 Dec 2012

Why take the lives of those innocent little ones, is what I don't uinderstand what is in the mind of the shooter.

I watched the news yesterday with such a sad heart, tears in my eyes, and a lump in my throat, as I empathized with the families. As a former kindergarten teacher, I envisioned so vividly the lives of those innocent babies being blatantly taken, with such pain in my heart! My heart grieves for the needless suffering caused by such depraved acts! May the Lord help us all, and especially those who lost loved ones yesterday at Sandy Hook School.

My heart goes out to the families, what horrible way to remember the holidays in the future and now. Give all your kids and grandchildren hugs and remember to tell them how much you love them.
What really bothers me about this is that they focus so much on the guns, not the families or the shooters state of mind and the fact that if he didn't have access to guns he would have found another way to kill possibly even more people.
A lot of those that are unstable like that do show signs of it, but those closest to them chose to ignore the signs, even after something this tragic happens it takes a lot to bring the facts to the top.
I am keeping those families in my thoughts and prayers, and am so sorry for there loses.
Diane

This is a result of the push to take prayer out of our schools, the increase in violence in our childrens worlds in their games, on the tvs and in the movies they see. We to get back to teaching morales and values, not violence!

jerrib by jerrib 15 Dec 2012

I totally agree sewfrenzie, I have been saying this for years.
I just don't understand why people continue to buy the games, and allow the kids to watch violence on TV or movies.

Yes it is horrible. It always seems that around Xmas crazy people seek fir attention. I don't think that stopping selling guns only will do the thing. We all know that the are illigal systems all over the world to get things. Without a trace to check if you are allowed to buy this or not. Yes, less violence in the movies and games that would be a great start and no selling of plastic gun toys, that too. But I guess this is a wish 'cos we are now talking about bussines and money. The only thing left at this moment is indeed praying for all whom are involved. That those who get through are able to pick up their lives and not with a left iver for there rest of there live. God bless them and send them strenght.

Dear Jerri,

This is just so tragic. I have been to Bishop Farran's last day today in Newcastle (Anglican Bishop of Newcastle, Australia) as he is retiring and the whole congregation (about 600 hundred) prayed for all the families of those shot in Sandy Hook.

There is too much violence and guns are too readily available. Something needs to be done. We do not live in a world like we had when we were growing up.

I am just so sad and grieve for all those who have died, love and blessings Chris

Thanks Chris. I think the world is praying for those involved in the tradedy. I hope someone the word will get out to get rid of the violence available for children to play and watch. How can it not affect their minds. This is what the parents are letting them do, with no thought as to what it could do to them down the road. Wake up people...

I have said it so many times...they have to stop with all the violence the kids have access to, games, tv, movies. They don't want to watch it or play it, unless its got alot of violence. If everyone stopped buying or watching it, they would get the point and go back to good old Disney. I just pray that someone will come up with something to put an end to these mass killings.

I think the Gov. (I think that's who is was) has it right...evil came to our town today. That's it, plain & simple. Evil. I know all parents & grandparents want to just hug & hold their kids tonight. Several of you are so right. I am afraid things will not be better as time goes on. But, one day all will be judged & every knee will bow. At THAT time Evil will no longer be allowed to roam the earth.

Oh, how terrible! Why do they not stop to sell weapons in the USA?
It is just too dangerous - I blame this terrible increase on all the scary
computer games which are now available to young and elder children.
The young ones are trained to use deathbringing things in those games
and it is in their brains. Often children do no more have a real family and how should they know what's right or wrong? Certainly not from
TV or internet. It is soo sad - Maria - mom of six from Germany

I totally agree, but you can't tell the younger generation. I keep telling my kids that I worry about my GK future. All they know is beat, kill and hurt others in these games. I refuse to buy the GK any of these games. I don't understand how the powers to be can't see how this is affecting their minds. They aren't happy until there is violence. What happened to Good Old Disney movies.
I pray I am wrong with what is down the road, With both parents working now, they aren't raising their kids and give them everything they want, because they aren't home looking after them. I raised my two kids on one income as a single parent and they are great adults. It can be done, they just want everything, but it will be at he expense of our Grandchildren.
Hugs Jerri

There are gun control laws out there that aren't being enforced, thats the real problem, making more laws won't prevent this from happening again. And people who do this don't follow the laws to begin with. AND will find ways to get the guns even if they become outlawed.
