I finally got this picnic blanket done. This is the one with the cotton duck on the back. It was a bit of a challenge & it is very sturdy stuff. In fact my wonderful husband not only put all 3 layers on the frame to be quilted he later came along & decided to help me quilt a few rows himself! This is indeed a quilt made from the two of us to our daughter & son-in-law & their family. They do alot of things outdoors & since this blanket has the cotton duck on the back they can sit on the ground without any fear of grass picking up through to them.Or anything else either LOL

Loralye, this is just such a great project that you did for your daughter and her family. It is just so pretty...only problem is that when you take it on a picnic, I would have a hard time deciding what to eat first...the quilt blocks or what was in the basket to eat...lol...you and hubby did a great job...

It's lovely and I'd have a hard time putting it on the grass. The quilt blocks are lovely for the outdoors and nature.

I always liked those fruit and veggie prints but could never figure out anything to use them for. This is a perfect picnic blanket and it turned out great. they will surely love anduse it for a long time.

I think that it will be nice to have this in the bag that I made too! Now if I could come up with a vegetable or fruit label for the back I will be all set!
