I just saw these blocks, yes it is a quilt. It will be magnificent. You are brave to tackle such a hard project. Great job.
Wow well done you are getting there (I have real trouble lining up) , with the batting you could try cutting the batting ½ inch smaller than your top and bottom so when you sew them together you don’t have a thick seam , also if you add the binding as you sew together one seam at a time flip it over to cover raw edges and hand sew down you get a neat back without stitching on the top , I hope I explained this ok looking forward to seeing how you go with it. Hugs Monica
wow Noah, so much work, but thanks for sharing and thanks for our perfect machines for help, imagine do this everything by hand only :-)
Hugs and kisses
I would be frustrated working in such large sizes. The first thing I'd want to do is to embroider something in those vacant corners! Anyhow, I'd suggest using a thinner cotton bat. It looks like you might be using a 2oz poly? I'd also try using one big square...top fabric,bat,backing... instead of 4 smaller squares and centering the design in each quadrant. You should baste the sandwich together first with washaway thread to keep it stable and from shifting. Then leaving a larger border around each block to make it easer to attach them together. Having to cope with the back in picture 6 would make me pull out my hair!
hay thanks i forgot about the baste stitch .I will try that next also these are all my scrapes i plane to use a thinner nice quilt batt .I am now trying with one big square hugs and keep those comments coming i love them carolyn
I really like it Carolyn. By the time your finished experimenting you will have an interesting quilt with all the trial pieces. Looking forward to seeing the end results.

I really like it. I think there is a method similar where you have a larger backing that stitches up neat with nothing visible, obviously not ITH. You go girl! I love the larger quilt patterns!
Liking how the blocks look but not sure about the ribbon/ric-rac. Bias from the same fabric wouldn't distract from the pretty quilting.
they look great but rather complicated? I think that your getting the hang of it though, hugs Loralye
This is very interesting. Quilt as you go type. I would get it crooked as the shepards hook. I love the color. Pic #5 I like lots. I will be looking forward to what you come up with.
this will be beautiful when it is done... I would like to try one also.. I have a few of the quilt patterns..
Looks interesting. Is this hard? Would it be easier with flatter batting? Just wondering if you have tried and how it worked. I also wonder if you could quilt through the top, batting and backing at the same time and then piece the squares together? Something like the quilt as you go method. Do you have a link to this? It's look interesting. Thanks
no link cause i had these for some time and i got them in my quilting file with her name on it .So go to her site and try to look under quilts and i don't know how to put that all here sorry i am so dumb aty computers :(:(
