Carolyn, I LOVE it!! Continue on; it will be beautiful, when you finish! I am anxious to find time to do a quilt, and want to give this swirly pattern
a try!!
Hugs,
Angel
I don't think that that you need to cover what you perceive as "mistakes" with bias tape. This quilt is made by a human, not a machine, and it is ok for people who see this quilt to know that! Consider how the bias tape will disrupt the design before you go through the trouble of attaching it too. I think when you start using a different batting, a lot of alignment issues will resolve themselves. Right now it appears that you might have a lot of shifting going on with the fabric because of the fluffy bat. I was thinking that small design, like a bullion rose, in the very center where the four blocks meet might be a nice anchor for the design, but then, I want to embellish everything. You are very brave to take this project on and I am astounded at how nicely it is turning out. This will be an amazing quilt when done!
Great work!
You will have to come visit me in the States and show me how to do it. I would visit you -- but I don't like the cold we have here right now. Your cold up North is MUCH colder!
I tried to attach a You Tube link for the "Jenny Join" quilt block technique, but when I tried it...no good. If you haven't seen this techinique yet, it might be an option if you do not want to use sashing between your blocks. If you Google "Jenny Join" you can probably access the You Tube link...there is also a segment on borders and finishing using the Jenny Hasking methods...you should also check out the videos on Jenny Hasking site...they are available for download you they can be watched at your convenience. Her techniques are quite interesting. Sorry the link didn't work...Good Luck and keep us posted as to what you decide to do!
Forgot to add...Jenny Haskings quilt A Place in the Sun uses the Jenny Join technique and I believe there are three video segments on Jenny's site for this quilt...
This was well worth the effort you took to do the test blocks. Can't wait to see the finished one.
Practice makes perfect. It will be gorgeous when you finish it.
I love your second try it will be beautiful when you get it done. Is this king size one?
nice carolyn, I like these
hugs and Happy new Year to you my friend

Carolyn - I like these!! They are a nice size too. You can see all the detail of the quilting. I like your contrast of blue thread on the white fabric.
