I was intrigued by the hotpads used in the microwave that someone got in the Christmas swap so I had to try it for myself. From 2 fat quarters I got 4 hotpads that fit a 9 inch bowl. I'm keeping 2 for myself and taking the other 2 for a gift exchange at our belated Red Hat Christmas party next week. These are very easy to make and go together quickly.

Love them. Can you keep them under the bowl while in the microwave?

Yes, that is the whole idea, you have the hotpad already in place when it is time to take the bowl out of the microwave. And that is why they mustt be made of cotton.

Yes, I found them. Thank you. I realized that I have this snowman design but it was filed under winter instead of Brother. I used it for a runner for my daughter.

I've made some too, but it's very hard making sure all the materials are 100% cotton. I thought I had 100% cotton batting only to read the small print later that it had a small percentage of polyester in it. Bah Humbug! Fortunately I hadn't put them together yet.

It is important that everything is 100% cotton or you run the risk of starting a fire.
