Hi everyone, been away for a while, I have a picture to show you.

It's of my daughter, my sister plays around with photoshop and she changed the background of the original picture.

I then added the frame and the wisteria using photoshop.

I plan to make a wall hanging, using a T-shirt transfer sheet to put the picture on the fabric.

I found some sute birds to embroider onto the frame like they are looking thru a window.

My question is when I get the transfer attached should I do some quilting around the frame or just leave be?

I'm thinking of adding roses around the edges as a border too...

Thanks for looking :)

Thanks Loralye, I have printed one transfer sheet but the color was off so it may become a practice sheet.

Carolyn, I haven't decided on the color of the roses, but you still see purple from the wisteria, I almost used white wisteria but went with the purple :)

Thank you, this picture is a few years old, she doesn't let me curl her hair anymore and she hates getting her picture taken now. :(

I would only quilt it if the picture is bigger than my hand with fingers spread out. If I had to quilt it would be with matching threads (you will have to make a number of thread changes) or you could use a smokey transparent thread. I would only quilt outlining the vines, flowers, and tree trunk. Then I would decide if the dress needed just a little. Don't do the skin, hair, squirrel any of the background of the picture. For other parts of the wall hanging quilt using 2in. crosshatch or stitch in the ditch. This is such a beautiful picture.

Thanks for the tip, I haven't tried free motion quilting so this is a challenge, of coarse I will be practicing before I go to the picture, the picture is 8x10 :)

I would not add roses to this IMO it may take away from the little girl and this is what you want to stand out yes? It is lovely as is...I may suggest stippleing around the print to make the fabric stand out even more...will look forward to seeing this all finished....wonderful idea....

It's perfect the way it is. Less is better than more and more might distract from your daughter's image.

L'ensemble est très réussi. Pour un tableau mural je ne retoucherai pas l'image, je broderai uniquement le cadre avec des roses ou des oiseaux en fonction du décor autour du tableau. Bon travail ! Amitiés de France;
