WOW! That looks cold. Going to be wetter when all that snow/ice melts.
Yes, Hopefully a slow melt to avoid more ground saturation. The heavy rain was still running off when the temperatures quickly went well below freezing.
Someone when down a road and put some kind of blue dye on the ice formations. Looks really neat.
The wondrous things God has created!
Your daughter and husband look like they have a really long long shovel ahead of them !!

It is now five days later and we are once again getting snow that was supposed to be rain. The drive is getting covered again. I shoveled for an hour and then had to go in to warm out. They told me not to do anymore and I had no problem with that. lol
wow amazing yet frightening in all its power! & I am not sorry that I missed it but glad that you are all ok! hugs Loralye
They said this was the first flash flood ever called. We have floods but this came quickly and caught most off guard.
Last week here in Arkansas we had 70 degree temps, that night we had severe thunder storms, and in the morning it snowed ! Reports of tornadoes went out every where. They ended up being about 20 miles from my house.
I love the ice pictures !
Hugs, Bonnie
Saw that on the CNN news. It has been a strange winter. I have another picture from another year where we went to see them climbing the ice formations.
At one time my husband and I were really thinking of moving to this area and then when you show pictures like this all I can say is "South Alabama looks really great to me". Our temperature here for the past several weeks has been wonderful. Just a little chilly at night. People out jogging wearing shorts. I feel for you though. Be careful. It is perfect weather to just stay in and sew if you can.
It would be nice to have something above freezing. I have been reconstructing some of my cloths and some much needed mending so been able to avoid being out in this winter wonderland.
Sorry about the snow, but you can keep it. Thanks for the photos.
It dropped a foot or so of snow at our elevation over night and we were unable to locate someone to plow out our drive for at least a day or two. Used to have a snow blower but the gravel and it didn't agree. The three of us started shoveling so maybe no more cold white stuff for a while. I'm in to warm up and snapped a photo of my husband in red and daughter in a black coat still shoveling snow.
Hope all is Ok with you! looks terrible and beautifula t the same time! Suzanne
Well we got a foot of snow over night and it is still snowing so will have to wait for a plow to get us out and they still haven't done our non city roads yet.
This looks really frightening and terribly cold on top of that. It is difficult for me to comprehend as it is boiling hot here in SA - although we have had some much needed rain today, which has bought the temperature down a little. Stay warm and safe Anita. Hugs Sarah.
We lived in South Florida and it could get plenty hot but you could remove clothing easier. House is well insulated but now I have a couple layers on because the heat is being sucked out with the winds. I'm sure the rain caused added humidity to you heat.
I am constantly amazed at the destruction mother nature can cause and all in a matter of minutes. I do hope these diverse weather conditions will settle down soon.
I am worried that the water in our river hasn't gone down yet and it is higher now than I have seen it before. If we get more rain on top of the river height now, I dread to think what will happen.
Stay safe and prayers for all. Meg
Living on a river can be tricky when the water rises. Had an uncle that lived on the Ohio River and if you look on his ceiling there was a big hook for pulling his baby grand piano up when the floods came. On a door frame he had marked all the heights of the food waters and dates. Still they didn't move and eventually put in a huge pumping system. Praying that the water recedes soon in your rivers.
Beautiful but deadly! Prayers for you folks. I know what mountain roads are like. So be safe.
I don't envy you guys over there, the wheather here goes from stinking hot with bush fires at one end to torential rain and floods at the other of Australia you never now what will happen next! All we can do is hope it all settles down soon and everyone stays safe..hugs to everyone Marian
Would like to hibernate till spring. lol We get Forrest fires and they scorch thousands of acres. Remember seeing your fires and the koala that drank from a bottle of water that the firefighter held for it.
Wow! that is amazing, you be careful!
My husband goes to work before daylight so the ice is a constant concern. When you go around a curve on ice your vehicle don't necessary want to make the turn and only go straight. That is what happened the day he went off into the creek bed. No damage but our daughter was quite shook up.
Looks like you have had enough. I hate to say this but the ice is amazing. Hope the flooding has stopped. Our winter has been pretty mild this year. Hope it stays that way.
The water went down in the shopping center parking lot leaving a muddy mess but it all froze before any clean up could take place. Maybe when the snow plow scrapes the snow it can push the muck off. lol Though I had it in the pictures but they got left out on the mud slides and gaping holes in the roads that are now closed.
Boy, i thought we had weather problems in Australia ,looking at yours ours is a walk in the park. My heart go,s out to you . Take care guys
We take our lives in our hands every time we go out on these mountains roads. My husband already went off the road and when I called the tow truck place and called him back on the cell phone a local youngster pulled him out. Very grateful for the young man.
oh boy u sound like me i am sick of snow .We get the driveway nice then we get more snow :(:(i to hate winter!!lol
We just want spring to come and according to the groundhog day thing it didn't see it's shadow so that is supposed to mean an early spring.
Oh my you have had everything. Hope it will clear up for you Take care
We are tired of the snow and black ice on the roads. As soon as the road crews clears up one mess another follows. Our back way or short cut through the mountain had a land slide so now we have to go the long way around.
