You can also use the rubber shelf liners. You can cut it any size you
want. It would probably be less expensive also. We, the quilt Guild,
uses this to put under our sewing machines to keep them from walking
on the slick table tops and to keep from scarring the table.
My sewing machine has the slider control. No need for a foot control. Love it. Just push it with your finger to control speed.
Annie i used jar rings( off the top of jars for making Jam etc.) on mine and it stays in place to hugs carolyn
Do you rent out yur thinking cap.. Sometimes mine is on the fritz..
Enjoy reading tips. I have a gel mouse pad that is heavy and stops one of my foot pedals from moving away. The serger pedal I have wrapped around the leg of the stand a couple times it sits on. I remember my mom's cabinet sewing machine had the knee pedal and that was so much handier for me to use.
Annie you have some great ideas. Thanks for this I will remember your great idea. I dont have laminates but my daughter does so I will sort something out for when I sew there next. My problem is pins in the carpet...
you can purchase magnetic card that you could place on the table in front of your machine that way any dropped pins will be caught and not go into the carpet. the alternative is to place a large sheet of plastic under the table and its surrounding are When you finish sewing you can pass a magnet over the plastic to retrieve any lost pins and then simply empty the sheet of all the threads and scraps into the bin.
Annie you aught to be writing a book called 'Annies Tips' I used to have a magnet that was a door magnet from a kitchen door that was attatched to a long bit of string. It got dragged across the floor and collected the pins. I do keep my machines on a bed of some none slip stuff which is useful
Hello Friend, I use a product called 'Multi Grip' Gordons productions www.gordons.co.za One day a friend of mine who makes clothes for a living was using her overlocker and it just did the same thing. I said I know what will save that problem. Now the overlocker doesnt move. She was so happy. I also use it in my hoop when the fabric is very thin. I hope this will help you. With kind thoughts Pam from Kwazulu Natal SA
I use a mouse pad with the wrist bump on it, the bump keeps it from going anywhere. You can put sticky back velcro on the bottom of the foot control and stick it to a rug too.
That's a great idea that is a quick and easy fix. You are a smart and a generous person.
My floor fan did the same thing, so I took rubberized shelf lining and put a piece of that under it so that it can stay put.
