great job Loralye. You could also go to a dollar store and buy the dog leashes - they make excellent straps - I also looked at the strapping for strapping down loads as they also carry those.

Love your bag and the straps from the belt idea. Belts of all types are helpful in bag making. A+ and a hug....... and a *

I chose the fabric & cut them (outside) into 2.5 inch strips & then decided how tall & how wide I wanted the bag to be, sew in this case I made 7 strips & I sewed dark to light & then the animal print & then light to dark but whatever order you like will work. press all the seams the same way , mine were 32 inches long & & then measure the finished strips & make your inside lining the same size Iused fusably fleece & ironed it onto the inside fabric & then laid the strips ontop & quilted in the ditch to make sure the 2 layers would be stuck together nicely. you can see the stitch linces on the green really well, fold the bag in half & at the bottom cut out a 1.5 inch square on both corners through both the front & the back layers, stitch the bottom line only together & then fold your corners to meet at the seam line & stitch each side & then it is time to add the handles & I cheated here as I bought karate belts at the second hand store & they make great strong handles & I can get 2 sets out of one belt! sew for me easy peasy & if you have any mre questions just give a shout out & I will do my best. Hugs Loralye

Oh I forgot to add that I add a reinforced cardboard bottom covered in duct tape sew that it can be wiped off if needed. & my bottom is in fact 2.5 inches each side sew when it is done it has a wider bottom which I prefer.sew the bottom finishes @ 4.5 inches wide sew it is a good size
