Mar 17, 2013 -- This looks wonderful. Nice work. I love how the same thread takes on different shades with the way they digitized it. Beautiful.
Marvellous work and design unique. Thank you for sharing and hugs from France.
Urban Threads have quite a few unique designs! Any problems while stitching it out??
I had problems with the first one, not while stitching, when it was finished, it was full of puckers. But after reading their tutorial, I solved the problem !!
Dear Pat, that is one stunning looking bird. I love the way it has absolutely no puckers. I read your comment about that and, well, it was certainly a good idea to have the fabric so firm and taut. I'm so glad he turned out better the second time around. Love and blessings Chris
Hi Chris, thank you. I know now what to do when I take on another design so dense, very firm fabric, like denim, and use 505 sprayed on the stabiliser.
Wow, that is so cleverly digitised, the effect of the stitch direction makes it come alive. Beautifully stitched and displayed, you'll make someone very happy with this.
love the fabulous owl yes well worth the 2 and a half hours work....
he looks great and wise as all owls should..thanks for sharing..your son has great taste in colours.
I love this owl! Have collected them for yrs! I think this started because my Mom swore I was born a night-owl! Well, I am 66 now and I still do not sleep.
I love owls as well, especially barn owls, and I've stroked one when I lived in Cornwall and someone was in the shopping centre with one, beautiful birds.
The thread shading and the different fills are neat. Looks wise in the frame.
Would you believe it when I tell you that only one colour was used throughout? I suppose the way the stitches went made it look as though I used another shade of green, if that is what you mean by the different shading? It was a very interesting design to do, but it's all thanks to Urban Threads !!
Pat this looks stunning
Hi Caroline, this is the second time I did this. Yesterday, I did it in light brown on cream material, but quite a few puckers were round the edge, and no amount of steam pressing would get rid of them, and that was no good for me, so it ended up in the bin !! Then I got an e-mail from Urban Threads, and they were showing a tutorial all about getting puckers and outlines going off, so I printed it off, took it to bed, and couldn't wait for this morning so I could start again! This time, it was done on very firm material, in my case, denim,,but the stabiliser was attached with a temporary spray, so it couldn't move if it tried, my son chose the colour, and away I went, with my fingers crossed! I was so pleased when it came out perfect, gave it a press, and put it in the frame. Now I know what to do in future with a very dense design, no holding me back now !!!
Great info Pat. I love the Urban designs and reading the weekly email from them
this design came out stunning.. wow..
Thank you, the person who digitised this at Urban Threads deserves a medal. I did the easy bit !!
He beautiful, but poor baby is tired from all of that stitching. ;)
I don't know about him being tired, the clock seemed to be going extra slow today! I shouldn't moan about this taking over two hours, a little while ago I did one that took 7 hours!
Beautiful!
If you click on the picture, he will be upright.
This is lovely and as you say well worth the time it took.
Thank you. When I replied to laffma 1 on my PC, he was lying down, now I am on my iPad, he's up the right way again !!
