Hi, Jan,
I thought of you, when I saw the weather report a few days ago of the
white fluffly stuff piling up in Colorado! Here in middle Georgia, our "Spring" is almost here with daffodils and bradford pear trees in bloom. Temps are dipping into the low 30s at night, but, reaching sunny high 60s by noon each day! By Easter Sunday, our warm days should be here to stay for awhile!! Stay snug!!
Hugs, Angel
Very rarely, Jan! May get a mist that feels like snow each winter a couple of times. Back in 1973, I believe it was, we had what we called a "big" snowfall, about a foot deep. In 1993, we had an icestorm with snow, limbs breaking, and power out for three days. Cindy and I were alone, using the fireplace as only source of heat. Had about one day's supply of wood left, when power came back on. We had sorta closed ourselves up in the den to contain the heat from the fireplace, and warmed soup over the fire. Cindy said we were "camping out"!! LOL Most of our winter days are very mild temps, but we do get freezing and light snow sometimes, but not often! As I cannot stand to be too hot or too cold, I love living in Georgia!
Hugs, Angel
Keep warm - wish I could send you some of our amazing hot weather.
don't talk about it, here in Belgium we also had enough snow this morning. I'm getting depressive. Last week we had such nice spring time (18 degrees, now it is -5 degrees) Sun...where are you...(smile)
Sewing party at my house! Bring your machines and a sweater to Utah USA and we will bask in the "warmth" of today. It is 55 degrees Fahrenheit in my city right now (mid-afternoon) and no valley snow except the bits that remain on the north face. The bulbs are even creeping out of the ground expecting Spring!
LOL just a little bragging. ;)
I am sure I will get more snow and cold soon. But the little bit of warm weather has me so hopeful for Spring! It MUST be time for a party -- right?
You know, I wish I could just throw my machine and Ben in the car and drive over. But, I can't even make it down to Denver to see Christine!
One day we will meet up and have a wonderful time! It is a LONG drive and much too hard on Ben. I will save my pennies and make the trek to your place one day...
That's a very kind thought from over the big pond. We had a few flurries here in the east of Kent but today some pleasant sunshine. The downside is the bitterly cold wind. Amazing when you consider that this day, last year, we had temperatures of 18c and the threat of hosepipe bans across the country. As much as it pains me to admit it, the 'powers that be' in good old Blighty are just incapable of dealing with an inch of snow. Off my soap box now.
While as Sue says bitterly cold its been a sunny snow free day in my bit of the UK
Where do you live in the UK ? The UK is confusing to me - what all is UK? LOL? Jan in USA
The cars were stuck following a fall of about one inch! It could only happen in England. It is bitterly cold though.
Same here, an inch of snow just before rush hour and traffic comes to a standstill; a couple of inches more and trains are delayed or cancelled and airports are closed.
Ain't that the truth. Although I moved to Colorado to avoid NorEaster's!
I think you have had more snow down on the "flat land" than we have had up here. It just doesn't melt in between snows here, so it looks like more. I'm so ready to see green again. Getting a little cabin fever!!
