I have their thread and it is as good as any other that I have used. I personally have so many spools that a duplicate of one is not a big deal.
thank you all to the great responses and advice. Being a newbie to embroidery I appreciate your replies. I will try this thread and see how it works. As one of you stated, it is hard to complain about .60 a spool sale. Happy sewing! Love and Hugs....Cootie
Personally, I would find it difficult to complain about duplicate spools at .60 each. This vendor may be clearing out an old or overstock supply and felt a substitution was in order. It also is possible this was a packaging error. Was there a substitution notice posted when you placed the order? Return s/h for exchanges can become very expensive as well as s/h on single spools.
Very dark colors are more prone to breakage than lighter colors due to over-dying to achieve the darker color. I use polyester (purchased from ThreadArt) nearly exclusively due to its colorfastness without problems--but some machines are picky about their thread..
I guess it depends on your particular machine, sometimes, as to which kind works best. What kind of embroidery machine do you have? I have the Janome 300E, which is not at all fussy about thread type or brand, and I use the Metro poly. I get it when it's on sale for 59 cents a spool, and it compares very well with Robison-Anton poly and Isacord poly as far as not shredding, breaking, etc. and you can't beat it for shine. And it has the snap-bottom spools, too, like R-A. But do try a few in your particular machine before you buy a boatload, some machines can be fussy. Hugs, Marji
I use poly thread from Metro and love it but I have 2 full boxes of poly from another company that I can not use for a top thread but it will work in the bobbin. (a lifetime supply of colored thread for bobbins). So all poly is not created equal. Try a few spools before buying a large amount.
I'm a Metro poly Cutie...love it...have it in every color they make in the large 5000m spools...very shiny and I have had no problem with breakage...price is unbeatable! Also use their prewound bobbins...price is fantastic and they work great...I use the plastic class 15A bobbins and they are reuseable as well....
Thank you for in into on their bobbins. I didn't see black in bulk like the white type L. Do you know if they carry it. I am looking for a good supplier that ships both at a good price.
I use polyester most of the time - never had a problem. Also use rayon, embroidery cotton and normal sewing cotton. All work well.
I use poly thread and don't have breakage problems. Tried using rayon thread but was not successful due to breaking. Cotton thread also an option but I like poly best.
