Thanks so much for the video link! Now I understand how it works. I have a Brother sewing machine too and will look see if I already have this foot, if not I see a purchase in my future -LOL. Looks like fun!

Well that washed up nicely. I've been using my fringe foot for joining so might just have to do some clipping if it still works after the needle broke off a piece of it.

all it is is a zig zag then a top stitch then cut the thread ok

You problably have this foot. It is like the edge stitch foot.
It has a piece of steel down the middle that you zigzag
over.
