A little bit of paint therapy. I was asked to paint the Paschal candles for our 2 churches. So did one on Tuesday evening and the other one last night. The one with the heart shaped white thingy is for our Redhead Church and the other one with all the people in it is for my Church at Belmont North. I have a book of Ecclesiastical images and copied the 2 designs and stencilled them onto the candle and then painted them. Very tricky and messy to boot! They will stand out in their candlestick holders. Please excuse the mess on the table, the bag belongs to Wendy and I was using newspaper to make sure no paint got on the table. I did have our lovely overseas placemats there though! Love and blessings Chris

Very difficult to paint on the curved part. Nicely painted. Instead of paint next year maybe you could do FSL.

You are right Anita, I had to lay them on their side and sort of manoeuvre them to paint properly. Good idea about the FSL! Love and blessings Chris

They look fantastic! They will look wonderful on Easter day. Are they made of beeswax or parafin. I am with you on the painting, I need to finish (detail) a project this weekend.

Hi Chris, they are beeswax candles. Wendy (our Priest) gets them locally. Love Chris

Beautiful job, Chris, they look professionally done, truly. Now they're going to ask you to do them every year, hee hee hee. I was surprised to learn that in Australia you have a church just for redheads? Now, blondes I could probably understand........hee hee hee, Big hugs, Marji

Well, you are quite right with me doing the candles! I've done them for past 10 years. Sometimes I put on Australian native flora, but this time I've gone for a more abstract design. I'll take them with me tomorrow for our Palm Sunday service and Wendy can put them up next week. They are a massive candle standing 15 inches high! (38cm). Love Chris

Thanks Karen and my hand is paying for it tonight! I can feel it tightening from holding the brushes for such a long time! Love Chris
