Grand Dad has a Strong Mind. but his body is so not there. he can not even open his hands to hold a Glass, let alone stand up and walk.. so I do not know who he thinks he is going to Do>,
Just get better. he has a whole lot of work to do to get out of there, and I am just thinking that time is not on his side for what he needs. man he was doing so good, and now totaly down, his whole body is just so weak. they tried to find any signs of a Strpke or something but they did not! but how did he get this much damage just from a fall?
Linda, I'm certainly not a doctor, but have you had him looked at by a Chiropractor? I have had great luck with chiropractors, and I know a pinched nerve can cause a lot of problems with hand strength. Years ago, they thought I had a brain tumor, and my friend convinced me to go to his chiropractor before I let them carve me up. Well, I had some severe pinched nerves, and after three months of treatment was just fine, all the hand problems (and a few others) went away. He did x-rays, and showed me where the problems were, I didn't have to take it on faith. If he is on Medicare, medicare will cover chiropractic especially for a fall. Talk to folks to find a good one in your area, make sure they do x-rays. It may end up not helping, but it sure won't hurt, and there's no surgery or anything painful involved. Hope you can get some help for your poor GrandDad, I'm keeping him in my prayers. I'm old, too, and I know how he must feel, poor man. Hugs, Marji
Linda I pray that your Grad Dad will recuperate from this fall really soon.
Praying that he continues to improve and gets his strength back in his legs.
Our prayers are with you for GrandDad, Linda. When we get older, it becomes harder and harder to lose things we once could do easily (I speak from experience, unfortunately). Does tend to be a "downer". It helps to have family & friends, things to look forward to. Maybe think about getting him one of those power wheelchairs, like a Hoverround? Medicare covers quite a bit if necessary, and it sounds like it is. It would give him back some freedom, make him feel less dependent. But prayers, for sure. Hugs, Marji
By the way, I'm going to put a post in Personal with a link to your post, so the prayer warriors don't miss it by accident.
I will tell him.. he needs to get his strenght back and his hands are not working either. they are kinda balled up.. so he will need full care getting in and out of the bed and Chair or just doing anything at this time, he is just too weak..
Prayers for you, your GD and the rest of your family.
Hugs Jerri
