Good morning all,

Just wanted to tell you I got my ruby machine back yesterday from repairs and to my (and the technician's surprise) the problem (burnt out main computer board) seems to have been caused by a faulty ubs key. When they changed my machine and gave me a new one last fall, they did not change my ubs key. He now figures that it was my usb key that damaged my other ruby and in using it maybe three times on my new ruby deluxe since I got it in November, it has also damaged it. Lucky, lucky me it was under warrenty as this was a $1000.00 for the parts, plus labor and taxes which would have totalled about $1300.00. OUCH that would have been painful.
So another word of caution, be careful with your usb key, the tech told me these are very fragile and that even dropping them to the floor can damage them and then in turn screw up your machine.
So I am off to set my machine back up and hopefully get back to some embroiderying,
have a good day all
hugs
Michelle

Was it the original Husqvarna key that came with the Ruby? I think I'll make a copy of that as it feels a bit loose. Thanks for the warning.

yes it was Martine and I have to say that I didn`t use it that much because I usally use the direct communication with my machine.

Nice to see you Lulu
When they treated me up on my ruby last year, I carried the old warrenty onto my my ruby deluxe so I only have 2 more years of warrenty left on the mechanical. If this was to happen, now was the time. I was stumped, my newe machine only has 65 hours of embroidery time on it and it just stopped receiving info from my computer for no apparent reason. When I took it in, they tried testing and then all ...... broke loose and nothing would work.
Have a happy easter my dear,
Hugs
