I have seen the paperdolls done on the Floriani one, at their stall at the Quilt show at Darling Harbour Sydney .An American lady was on the stall demonstrating all their stabilizers a few years ago .The clothes were attached using a type of glue called " Alenes on & off glue"(spelling is probably wrong) .It allows you to attach the clothes & remove them several times before more glue is needed to hold the into place & I think it washes out.
That is a good option. I am concerned about the dust. I would wait to put that on til just before it is used. I am not sure but hopefully it can go on just the clothes.
very cute... I have a few paper doll patterns but I have not done any yet..
I think it is very very pretty, never tried anything like that and will be interesting how you stiffen this in the end. I have some peltex, but would think is much too thick to embroider on.
I do not know how many sizes they have. I will do do another soon with the peltex. Thank you for commenting.
Here is the link to the site. The second link is to the doll.
This will bring a huge smile to some litle girl. Well done.
I have just done one, used rubber back curtian x 2 and reverse fleecy on top, quite stiff for the doll, just curtain for the clothes, I took a square out of the middle(tummy) with a knife and added some velcro at the back zz stitch in place covered with glued cotton fabric. put on velcro shoes and headband, the stiff side , so soft side on the clothes then they will not get caught up. seems to work.....wendy
I like the rubber back curtain idea, got any pics? Please explain again in detail, I really want to do this right. when you say x2 you have 3 layers and no stabilzer, right?
yes thats right, I put the velcro in the back so the clothes don't sit away from the doll with the thickness of the 2 pieces of velcro, I stitch on the fabric side.
Very Cute......well done and I am glad a certain GD zonked a little while ago. We have done butterflys on shirt, Name on apron,Made Mops I think it was hand puppet cow she had to have, a ith kitty done in flower print. If awake I would be hit up for this. I have some of that stiffer stuff. So may have to give it a whirl at some point.
Lovely Fairy in pretty little girl colours.I thought that paperdolls were embroidered on what they use in the bottom of bags to keep them in shape. Its like a stiff felt ,can't think of its name but Floriani makes one
There are a few choices, she recommends felt. I will be trying the felted fleece next time.
I think you are thinking of peltex which I will have and need to try as soon as I get my machine back!
Yes thats the one but I think there are similar ones about because I could get it here but was sold something else that would do
