Hi everyone! I was asked to help start up an org. and do a fundraiser for a friends of animals org. for the city I live in. I work with the Animal control officer and Paws watch. We capture and fix feral (wild) cats. We also have grants to help everyone fix their animals for free. What I need is ideas of items to make that will sell quickly, and easy to make that will apeal to the public. We need to raise money to bring sick and injured animals to the vets. Any ideas would be so welcome. Thanks so much!! Suzanne

You will notice today (4-12) that there are 2 good animal designs...one by Shayster "Bubble Babies" which could be put on towels and Katulle's "kitty mug rugs"...and she has done dogs mug rugs as well (#: 8400282) These are 3 free designs that would work well for your purpose. If you know anyone who does ceramics you could perhaps get them to donate mugs as well?

Suzanne, What a great cause to be a part of. Do you have a logo? Maybe one of us could digitise the one you choose, for you to put on items to sell for raising funds.

No don't have a logo yet and not many details. I just wanted to go into the meeting with a lot of ideas under my belt. I will think on a logo though. So far great ideas are comming my way through many talented people. Thanks ! Suzanne.

Food for thought, perhaps. There is a very nice design posted by milas in 'Design by Cuties' of a pawprint. You could perhaps produce this for use in making greetings cards or simply blank cards for people wanting something special when sending a brief note to a friend. Similarly, it could also be used to decorate cheap towels used to dry pets or on pet bedding.

Reusable shopping bags. Tyvec(the material that most are made from) is super cheap. You could have your logo screened onto them. Silk screening is cheaper than embroidery.....(I'm so sorry I had to say that).;)

Where will you be selling these items? Will they be online and will you have a way to take credit/debit cards? I have found that if you don't, people only have less than $5 cash with them most of the time. So, something very inexpensive would work better like pencil toppers and very simple mug rugs. If you can take cards -- then you have many more options. I will think on it and add them here.

Bookmarks are easy and inexpensive too. Perhaps your local library would allow you to post an example bookmark there.

Good ideas. Not sure where we are selling yet. We have to have our first meeting and I wanted to come in with ideas already. Thanks!!

Maybe you could stitch some of Sue's small purse designs. Do them in the cat and dog faces and sell them with treats for pets inside.
