Hope for the spring - I just saw this rather scruffy peacock butterfly sampling the nectar in my flowers. It is probably just out of hibernation and feeding itself up ready to find a mate. It's a good job we have plenty of nettles for them to lay their eggs on!¬

Actually, the flower is a hyacinth. It is also upside down, but I thought the picture looked better with the butterfly the right way up!

This photo is surely worthy of inclusion in a photography competition!!!
