Well, I'm still downloading to finish some alphabets that I will probably never use BUT I did manage to stitch out ten pink ribbon designs for a friend undergoing stem cell treatment so she can share with others if she wants to. Then I did a scripture FSL and angel for a friend who lost her mom recently. And last but not least an FSL Trinity Bookmark for another friend's birthday.
Well, if you do, you might want to do them in such a way that if you can not use them, they can be donated to places that make quilts for charities for the infirm, down and out or the needy, or other groups that do good thing for those in need..
I am still challenging myself to get my sewing fabric stash down. I haven't even made a dent yet...Shaking my head (SMH) LOL *2U
I sometimes go through my vast collection and find something I forgot I had and sew it out. There are many that need to be deleted. What was i thinking when i downloaded them, I guess wow it's free, Gotta get it lol I would never be able to sew them all, there is always something new I want to try and even designs I do buy don't always get used. But they are there when I get around to playing on my embroidery machine. It's nice to have a huge selection of designs that way we never get bored

I am so following your post.....I can't wait to see what you have done. ;)
I don't think I'll live long enough to do that but thanks for asking!! LOL I guess that is one way to find out which designs don't stitch very well so they can be deleted. You are brave---very brave!
Meri
What on earth will you do with design you stitch out that seemed wonderful when you downloaded it but now your tastes have changed or the grandchildren are now grown or you realize you have too many similar flowers?. Guess you can make a crazy quilt. Good luck anyway with your project.
4-25-2013 Two things: She who has the most freebies wins! :) and I enjoy the hunt.
Good luck to you. You will probably still be stitching in heaven.
Collecting designs takes up less space than fabric : )
Help, what a challenge you have set yourself. Will you ever have time to visit us again. I think that when we start machine embroidery we download every single design that is available then for many of us we acquire a quality control and collect many less free designs or even only the odd one or two. Have fun on your new mission and enjoy the challenge. Thanks for the offer but I wont be joining in the near future
I can't remember the last freebie I actually used. I think I enjoy the hunt for the latest more than actually using them.
Most of the designs are 'just in case' I may find a need for it. But on the up side I have been linked to some magnificant designs - thanks to the computer boffs.
There is not enough hours left in my lifetime to do that! Tells you it's time to quit collecting, doesn't it? But I do trash some sometimes and so need more new things! Hugs. Nan W
I keep telling myself to quit collecting and then another one comes along that I can't pass up and so on. They are there if I need to look for one. Maybe I will find it when I start searching in my files?
I'm so old, many of my designs will only work on a mill loom!
There is no way I can stitch them all and I agree with Monique, start with the designs I have purchased or my favorites on DBC
You must be joking! I have been trying to look at all in the last 3 months and am still at the c..... ( I have to say I have thrown loads in the bin as some digitising is awful)
I would like to sew them all out but I need another life time!
I recognize the collecting, but when I stitch everything I think I'll be 150 years old. So I join you, but I begin with the purchased designs.
I like the idea, I'm curious how many people will join, both loud and quiet responses
Even Methuselah could not accomplish that and I had stopped collecting Freebies a long time ago. Now all I wish I could resist the specials that my e-mail account is full of. Ha, ha
I would have to have about 4 lifetimes and do nothing but embroider 24/7 plus what would you do with all the designs when your finished. I will just keep my collection, I just might need one of them one day....lol
Hugs Jerri
I'm not sure I can afford to purchase that much thread. LOL
