These are squares to go into a Quilt for my group to send to the British Fuchsia Society for their 75th Anniversary. I have already stitched 16 and passed them on to the next person then was asked to do some more. Will try to get a photo of the quilt when it is Finished

What part of Qld are you. I have seen them in Caboolture and there used to be a Fuchsia Nursery on Tamborine Mts.

Think the friend who is sewing it together keeps making it bigger and bigger.

I grow fuchsias as a hobby, so this terrific in my book! Can you share what type of fabric/stabilizers you are using? I tend to get puckers when doing fuchsias.

The fabric is Cotton which is leftovers from the Fuchsia Society when it closed. In this I have used two layers of tearaway. Sometimes I could use 3 if the design in dense.

Not me - my machine. I just sit and rethread and watch and you can guarantee that once I move away from the machine something goes wrong.

They are quite lovely. Question - do you always use a single larger piece of fabric to create embroidered squares rather than pre-cut?

No I don't but because we weren't sure how big the squares should be, I did it this way so the person who is stitching it together can cut to the size that will suit her and the quilt. There are 10 in the group, but it will always be up to the usual 3 or 4 of us to complete the quilt.

I have grown fuchsias for many years, but it was hard to work out combinations so I didn't double up. Couldn't put any white in the flowers as it wouldn't show. Was going to be cheeky and make a yellow fuchsia. The person who ever breeds a yellow fuchsia would be a millionaire.

One is upside down and another stitched on the other side. These things happen when you are stitching all day and tired as it is almost 12 midnight. They have to be cut into their squares so the problem will be sorted then.
