Golden Rod in cross stitch.

Stitched out this design I made a fortnight ago. Looks pretty, doesn't it.
Well, it would be nice done by hand. However, there are too many unconnected stitches to make it a nice design for machine embroidery. I hate jumps!

I used 3 shades of green (hardly visible in the picture)and 2 colours for the flowers.

Your being hard on youself it is a lovely design and not everything can be jump thread free, if you like a deign enough to sew it then ocasionally you can put up with threads..I give 4 gold flowers to you.. Marian

You capture real life in the form of cross-stitch very well!

Very pretty ! I collect golden rod medical use in Aug here and to use in floral arrangements it is weed to many but I think pretty and useful.

It turned out very pretty. I understand not liking the jump stitches, I am the same. With some of the Sajou letters I have done, I often leave out some of the few unconnected stitches and put in connections for others. Colors is another problem. I tried doing a lavender sprig and it was too much trouble so I stopped, it had three shades of purple and three shades of green which did not work well for the machine embroidery. I may try another style but use a single color of green and purple. It is a lot of trouble to do such a few stitches here and there.
I think some designs just do not work well for machine cross stitching.

Thank you. As i said: very pretty for hand embroidery, but not really suitable for ME. In the 'normal' ME designs connection stitches can be used successfully but that does not work with cross stitch. And you need more colours as you can't play with stitch direction. I can see that lavender is difficult to get right in CS!
